I loved once. I gave everything that I had to that love, blindly believing that nothing could ever take that feeling away from me. Away from us. And when my little world of happiness was ripped from my fingers, I felt a loss that still haunts me to this day. Now I use that lingering grief as a shield to keep my heart from loving again. It's that fear that keeps me from letting anyone, except my daughter, get close enough to make it hurt. To make my heart bleed when I inevitably lose again. Then I meet Liam Beckett, and everything I thought I had protected myself from is shoved back in my face.

Holy Bubblegum, this book was… EMOTIONAL... SWEET... STEAMY...ICKY STICKY BUBBLEGUM…
Liam and Megan’s Story was just what I needed at the time I read. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I can tell you it wasn’t that! Harper’s stories are always amazing, but this was even better. Once I started this book, I had to finish it. My kids wanted to kill me because I kept telling them to sit down. I just need to read one more chapter, one more chapter turn into another and another. Before I knew it, I was finished. I sat there with my kindle in my hand, thinking now I need more it was perfect.
“Fuck, I sound like a sappy Lifetime movie.” Liam
Megan came in during Dani and Cohen’s story. If you have read it yet, you need to. Anywho, back to Megan. Megan’s husband and Cohen were friends. He died on a mission and never made it back home to his wife and daughter. Now the only person Megan has left is her little bird, Molly. How does one person go through so much and make it out? Does she make it out of her whole with no scars? I guess you will have to read and find out.
A love worth having is a love worth fighting for
Liam, ah, where do we start with him? First, he is Dee and Beck’s only child. So, of course, he’d have to have a story like his parents. You’ve not read their story? It’s called Beck in the Corps Security Series. You’ll have to read it to understand what I mean. Liam is all alpha male and best friend with Dani. Of course, he would be their mothers are best friends, so they were destined to be as well. Liam is the complete package, loving, understanding, pushy, and he loves with everything in him.
“Never, not once in my twenty-three years have I ever felt a connection as strong as strong as I do when I’m with you.” Megan
I know some are asking about Molly. She is the sweetest little bird there ever was. You know she kind of reminds me of Cohen when he was younger. Huh, I just thought about that. And just like Cohen, Molly has all these alpha males wrapped around her little finger. They all have “Makeup Overs, Tea Parties, and Dates with her. What more could a girl ask for? She has even more love to give.
“Never, not once in my twenty-three years have I ever felt a connection as strong as strong as I do when I’m with you.” Megan
Ah! I’m so ready for more! Harper, please tell me you are not going to make me wait too long for more. Hopefully, I get Nate soon. I’m not sure how long I can go without these fantastic characters. I guess I will just have to re-read all my books again, starting with Axel.

Liam and Megan's story, which is part is attached to the Dee and Beck story from Beck: Corps Security, Book 3.
If you read Unexpected Fate: Hope Town, Book 1 you already have an idea who Megan is, she is the widow of a solder and she is an author. She has a 5 year old daughter which can wrap up any alpha male around her pinkie finger. Between tea parties with the princess of all alpha male Megan find herself feeling again. Only "LiLi" can come up with a plan and have the entire Corp. crew help out including Molly, the princess.
Liam has loved Megan since the moment her laid on on her, waiting and devising a plan to finally get her to feel, he not only helps Megan learn to live life again but to let go of the past and find a future with him.
I have to say my favorite scene is when Liam takes Megan muddying.
I love how Harper Sloan is intertwining the Corps. stories into her new series. I am not sure any other author has done this before but it is a great concept and is working for her. Looking forward to the rest of the stories.
Great love story about second chances

The epilogue made my throat and my eyes swell. IT IS SO OVERWELMING! 🥹😢 It amazingly summarizes the story. Just to think of her and her ex and Liam. The relationship is going to stay like this forever! It is better sweet. She had the worst past, but her ex was her stone when she was young, and I could see that he really loved her, like romantically, yet he was so respectful and didn't push her and kind of stained friend zoned even after the marriage.
Anyway, there was one thing that I concluded: Lime doesn’t know his parents' past, especially his mom. And this will be a hit or a foreshadow that Molly will never know her mom’s past. It is a tiny detail yet a big one in some way. But if she and her mother-in-law, Dee, talked together and shared their past, it could’ve been cheery on the side, too, but since that didn't happen, it is still okay because Dee and Beck are amazing people, and no doubt they are lovely in-laws.
Better to be read as a series, although it can be read as a stand-alone.
