This book will have you deeply immersed into the lifestyle of the Dom/sub culture. I have to admit that the narrator had to grow on me with her Eartha Kitt voice intonations. Just Bae is a writer extraordinary creativity in what he writes. Although, I had tears filling my eyes close to the end when the sub was feeling the loss of a loved one, I was left hanging at the end. This book needs book two in a hurry.

Overall the story was good. The ending was a little abrupt. I would have liked a HEA but that is just me.

I really enjoyed the exploration that Jada was willing to do and how Javier had needs, yet he moved at Jada's speed. Of course that sped up quickly when things got steamy. Jada was curious and Javier knew that he needed to dominate, but was willing to go slow with Jada when she agreed to try it. But once Jada got a taste, she craved submission as much as Javier craved domination. These two were made for each other. But that last twist I never saw coming. This is my favorite in the series.

D.J. Ryder narrates this story well. He has an easy to listen to voice. His female voice is smooth and does not feel forced. Mr. Ryder had the perfect voice for the dominant, strong Javier. He narrated him exactly as I imagined. I look forward to hearing more from Mr. Ryder.

Mom's a freak! One negative kink experience sends Jada into her sexual shell. Her attempts to bury her desires comes to an end after talks with mom and her bff. Javier was extremely patient with Jada and her nosy self, because I would never put up with her like Javier did. I didn't like Jada at all. Where's her trust? She acted like she was the dom??? She seemed skeptical of everything Javier told her. I can't with her mouth and nosy approach. The narrator was good. I voluntarily listened to this and am giving an honest review.

This novel delves into dominant and submissive relationships and does an excellent job at highlighting the idiosyncrasies of the roles more than a lot of similar novels; I applaud the author on the explanations. However, the relationship between Javier and Jada jumps very quickly after Jada decides to agree to the relationship. The concept of the exclusive sex club ranch isn't new but the description of the pony races was, at least to me. While the races were a side story that didn't really factor into the plot, I found it interesting. The conclusion was certainly shocking and not something I saw coming.

The authors summary includes "erotic, amusing, and deeply moving": I agree with the first two but deeply moving? I don't see it.

There was a production glitch where the end of chapter 11 is repeated as the beginning of chapter 12 which had me checking to make sure I hadn't accidentally moved back in the audiobook; nope, a technical error.

D.J. Rhyder did a great job narrating and has good emotional inflections making it a fairly easy listen.

Jada going thru several jobs after leaving college. Landing a job working for Xavier, a mystery writer. But he has more than mysteries in his library. Jada was wanting to know about the locked room. What was in his secret room? Did she really want to know? Xavier had other things in mind for her to learn. This story is erotic, sexy and steamy hot. D. J. Rhyder is a wonderful narrator, very animated, and a pleasure to listen to. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review.

The stories are very well written and have amazing detail. Will be reading all these books. My best friend and I listen to all of them and then talk about them at work the next day! Only thing that we struggle with are the endings. Otherwise, absolute perfection. Well done!
