I've long felt

that I fall short of certain goals due to a lack of willpower. For example: whenever pizza’s in front of me, all my fitness goals fade into the distant landscape. But in other parts of my life—parts where I’ve had success—I realize my willpower can be strong. So why do I miss some goals but not others?

Lately, I believe it’s actually an issue of commitment. I need to focus entirely on a single goal to create a habit that makes my transitory willpower a moot point. And as it happens, the perfectly suited listen fell right into my lap: The Strangest Secret (reviewed below), an updated classic of the self development genre.

For 30 days, I’m going to commit fully to one goal, pizza be damned: to feel good about the way I look. I’ve written this goal down, and I’ll carry it with me everywhere. I will look at it every morning and night, reflecting positively and cheerily on it. And I’ll do my utmost to align my thoughts, dress, diet, and fitness in a concerted effort on all fronts. Here’s hoping (believing?) this experiment will become a habit.

Feel like joining me? Then let me know what your 30-day challenge is. Strength in numbers, I say!
