Greetings

from West Hollywood, where it’s a cool 65 degrees and at least half a dozen fellow hotel guests are sitting poolside in their bathing suits. Gotta admire that tenacity! I’m out here in LA to talk to the wonderful Celeste Barber, whose upcoming memoir Challenge Accepted! I absolutely love. (I promise you'll be hearing more about it soon!) We met yesterday and chatted about everything from ADD to open heart surgery to mean girls in junior high. As we talked, she confessed that she’d doubted she had a whole book in her until she started writing. But as she buckled down to write, it unleashed a flood of memories from a very interesting life indeed. I think that’s what I love most about memoir—all of us are a little weird, messy, and resilient, and we all have a damn good story to tell. Even you. ❤️
