Story
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Great book and perfect narration

I was loath to ever have to stop listening
I’d listened to a few audio books sporadically before I made my way to Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime, so I thought I already understood the power of the medium. But there was something so special about Noah’s memoir that took it to a whole other, immersive level for me. His story was so wholly unique, his voice – familiar from TV but intimate in my ear – so rife with humor and emotion.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

A Perfect Narration for a Feisty Heroine
Artemis is a high-stakes sci-fi thriller that takes place in Artemis, a lone city on the Moon...This novel is filled with plenty of the techy detail and sardonic humor that made The Martian a hit. Rosario Dawson's narration will make you fall in love with the audio format. Dawson is perfectly cast as the feisty heroine; her performance is lively, witty, and animated, and she clearly brings her experience as an actress who has portrayed so many roles in the sci-fi, fantasy, and action genres.

Anyone in a leadership position should read this
- By Kimberly on 03-04-18
Going beyond the traditional business book
The Culture Code starts with corporate anthropology and becomes more than a business or self-dev title about more effective groups. I was hooked by the introduction, about a research team that studies effective groups; in their research they deployed a guy who could disrupt *any* group…until he found a group he couldn’t. From SEAL Teams who bond under pressure to departments in companies that are crushing the competition, Will Damron’s assured narration leads listeners on a tour of what “belonging” really means. Full disclosure: one of the teams at Audible used the ideas in Dan Coyle’s book to build a stronger, more inclusive team…and it totally worked. Highly recommend!

For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.

Story
Esmeralda Santiago reminisces about her childhood in Puerto Rico and her early years in Brooklyn as the oldest of seven (soon to be 11) children. Her upbringing is turbulent on account of her parents’ relentless fighting, which only ever seems to stop when they have another baby. When her youngest brother has an accident, her mother decides to move to New York with her children to seek medical treatment. Arriving in the United States, 13-year-old Santiago experiences uprooting and a loss of identity while she tries to adapt to a culture and language that are foreign to her.

Story
Jackson, Misisipi, 1962.
