Ms. Jean was born in Rockford, Illinois, and grew up in Geneseo, Illinois, a small town almost in Iowa. She grew up on a farm and knows the value of hard-work, community, and passion. After high school, she attended Western Illinois University, where she earned both her undergraduate and Graduate degree in English. She also played volleyball and participated in a number of clubs and activities while in college. After college, she and her college beau moved back to her hometown and eventually got married. He taught physical education and she taught high school and college English for over a decade, caring for their multiple pets, raising their two daughters, and overcoming whatever obstacles life threw at them. She attends soccer, softball, and volleyball practices for her eleven-year-old, and preschool programs and parties for her healthy, active four-year-old. Her parents and extended family remain an important part of her life, even though her younger brother moved to Australia nearly seven years ago. She plans to visit to celebrate finishing her Three Brothers Heritage Trilogy. There are several mottos she lives by, depending on what she needs during the day:
