I'm absolutely delighted that JOFFE BOOKS have now added my brand new novel, THE CONVENT GIRL, to my Devon series. The story actually begins in a convent in Ireland, based on my own mother's childhood there, before moving to Plymouth where we see the run-up to WW2 through the eyes of the heroine. What will happen to her when war breaks out and Plymouth is devastated by the Blitz? It's a stand alone story so you don't need to have read the previous titles, but for the eagle-eyed, there is a link to THE WHEELWRIGHT GIRL. If you haven't read the other novels, they're mainly set on the wilds of Dartmoor, from the Victorian period through WW1 and into the 1950s, and illustrate different aspects of the harsh life on the moor, from farming, mining and quarrying, to the little known gunpowder factory and the infamous prison. The first in the series, THE HARBOUR MASTER'S DAUGHTER, is based on the history of Morwellham Quay, once the greatest copper port in Queen Victoria's empire. I was so thrilled that this intriguing saga remained at Number One in Victorian Historical Romance in the Amazon UK Kindle charts for virtually the first four months following publication, returned to that position a while later, and was then in the Top 100 overall chart for a whole month, reaching as high as 41. I was so chuffed when Book Five in the series, THE RAILWAY GIRL, also won an orange flag by reaching Number One in Victorian Historical Romance. And I still feel utterly thrilled and proud that THE STREET OF BROKEN DREAMS won Saga of the Year in the prestigious RoNA Awards 2020, so I can officially call myself an award-winning as well as a best-selling author! It’s the summer of 1945 and WW2 is drawing to a close. But for some it can never end. Set in Battersea, London, where I myself lived as a small child, it's the last of four Twentieth Century sagas based in South East England. Another gripping, powerful drama, quite dark in places, I believe that, like all my novels, it will tug at your heartstrings. So why not take a look at my stories? I'm sure you will discover many hours of engrossing reading! For more details, visit my website at www.tania-crosse.co.uk or follow me on Twitter @TaniaCrosse or Facebook @Tania Crosse Author
