Steven Francisci is a writer, disabled U.S. Navy veteran, and mental health advocate focused on healing, accountability, and unlearning the patterns shaped by culture, family, and belief systems. Born and raised in Queens, New York, his early life was marked by trauma and rigid ideas about who he was supposed to be. After serving seven years in the Navy as a culinary specialist, a motorcycle accident in 2015 became a turning point that led him into therapy, deep self-reflection, and emotional and spiritual deconstruction. Steven’s work explores how we show up in relationships, fatherhood, and the world around us, grounded in the belief that real growth begins when we stop running from what we feel and start listening to it. He is the founder of Healing Roots On Up, serves as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate for children in foster care, and lives in Virginia with his three children.
