Ray Davis was born and raised in Texas. He grew up in a parsonage, his father serving as Senior Pastor for forty years. He married his sweetheart, Maggie, on August 1, 1987. They are the proud parents of daughter, Meagan, and son, Geoff. Ray graduated high school in 1983 and began college in the fall. It took 25 years, but he finished his degree in the spring of 2009. He went on to earn his Masters of Theological Studies at Liberty Seminary. The focus of his studies was Scripture along with Biblical cultures, languages, social traditions, laws, and religions. His thought is simple, "You cannot understand Scripture if you do not understand the culture and social settings it was written in. To understand how it applies to us, we must first understand how it applied to the people of that day. The people of the Bible were real people who worried about their children. They laughed, cried, felt anguish and pain, and joy and happiness. They were just like us, except they did not have the complete written word of God. Our lives are so much richer because we can learn from the way they lived their lives."
