Nadean Barton, hailing from Jamaica, navigated her upbringing in Bronx, New York, before charting a distinguished path in the U.S. Navy. Enlisting in October 1995, she underwent rigorous training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, before serving at Helicopter Squadron 1 in Jacksonville, FL. Her journey led her to Dental Assistant Class "A" school in San Diego, California, and aboard the USS Kitty Hawk in Yokosuka, Japan, where she explored numerous countries. Transitioning to Naples, Italy, she balanced her duties as a Dental Assistant with a pursuit of her passion for track and field. After postings in Bethesda, Maryland, and Navy Recruiting Districts in Miami, Dallas, and Seattle, where she attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer, Nadean concluded her 25-year tenure at Navy Recruiting District Atlanta, GA. Decorated with accolades including the Navy Commendation Medal and nine Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Nadean holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ashford University, with a pending completion of her Masters in Business/Entrepreneurship at AMU. Beyond her military service, Nadean’s resilience shines through her authorship and advocacy. She wrote her debut, "Can A Girl Catch a Break?", transforming personal adversity into a beacon of strength by using her pain to position her purpose. That book was written in 6 days and published in 30 days. After seeking therapy after her miscarriage, she paved the way for subsequent works, including "The Voices Behind Mental Illness, The Life of a Veteran" Which She used to map to mental wellness success. Following that she wrote her 2nd book "The Love She Never Had." She then found her strength to rebirth after healing, where she wrote "It Was Not You; It Was the Phoenix in You-The Rebirth," Demonstrating a commitment to mental wellness and helping others, she contributed to anthologies such as "There is No Health Without Mental Health" and "Think Pink,"-Success stories from Women who Launched Businesses and Changed Lives, where she talked about, not letting your setbacks cause you to sit back. Nadean was also vetted to participate in another Anthology with 50 women offering insights into pandemic experiences in the book "Covid 19, vol 4: All of our Fears and Triumphs." Underscore her dedication to empowerment and self-discovery, through her works, Nadean continues to inspire and resonate with readers globally, her latest literary endeavors, "I Am CHOOSING Me,” and "Navy Girl to Boss Chic-her transition from being in the Navy to her entrepreneurial journey.
