My first children's book, "Hornwell Honeypicker, The Flying Pig" is about a child's resilience. The flying pig takes his new friend, the little boy, on an adventure. Through kindness and trusting himself, and his friend, the boy can face the troubles that he is confronted with. My first book of personal essays, "Climbing Through Life" captures what Albert Einstein expressed: "Life is like riding a bicycle - in order to keep your balance, you must keep moving." Or as cyclists on his rides say: "You only get to the prettiest places by climbing hills." "Climbing Through Life" captures the idea of living where you live, invoking an appreciation for beauty and a sense of place - to keep the pretty part of NJ a place that provides great cycling, living and creative outlets. My writing explores ways to grow by experiencing and better understanding the substance of relationships with others and the environment. My second book of personal essays is "Aging Gratefully". Aging Gratefully contains stories that capture what I’ve experienced and learned. I hope they paint a living portrait that’s thought-provoking and entertaining. In my first book, Climbing Through Life, I shared the joys of cycling. This book crosses different kinds of hills, ones that life provides. I can’t always see them coming and, often enough, I don’t know when they’ll crest. But I keep climbing because there are times when you just can’t beat the view. He worked in technology for over 30 years, is published, and holds a patent. A graduate of Rutgers University and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, he lives with his wife, Carol, in Sonoma, CA.
