Mary Jordan was born in Sussex and is one of a family of nine children all of whom still meet regularly and enjoy family reunions. Mary began her working life as a regular army officer and has since has worked in the NHS and for a Medical Publishing Company. Her caring, dementia and end of life books are written from personal experience of caring and bereavement and the experience gained from working for a national dementia charity. 'End of Life;the Essential Guide to Caring' was highly Commended by the British Medical Association and runner up for the BMA Public Understanding of Science Award in 2011 'The Essential Carer's Guide to Dementia' was a finalist for The People's Book Prize' 2015.
