Justin Bloom is not his real name. But the story behind it is. He grew up in Birmingham, England, in a single-parent household in one of the city's tougher neighborhoods. For a period in his teenage years, home was wherever a relative had a spare room. He learned early that the world does not pause while you find your footing, and that no one was going to hand him a manual for navigating it. He figured most of it out the hard way. Wrong people. Wrong places. Decisions that cost him years he could not afford to lose. What changed was not luck. It was the slow accumulation of the kind of intelligence that school never offered him. How to read a room. How to read a person. When to push and when to walk away. When the opportunity in front of you is real and when it is designed to take something from you. That intelligence, built over decades and refined through a first-class degree in Psychology and an MBA from a London university, is what the Raise Street-Smart series is built from. Bloom now runs multiple businesses, travels extensively, and spends considerable time observing how people make decisions under pressure, in unfamiliar environments, and in the moments that define the direction of their lives.
