Jay Welsby growing up thought he would be a famous artist like Michaelangelo, but that didn't pan out. His true gift was to write as unapologetic as Novelist Donald Goines. He has won two writing contest for Miami-Dade County Youth Fair Expo. He has written over 7 short stories that are unpublished but they made a significant impact on his first book. Being raised by a single parent in Overtown, Miami, Jay had to use his gifts and talents to escape his impoverished community. Searching for a way out, he learned many trades (barbering, tile setting, plastering, and cooking.) His love for the arts stood out the most. Anything creative was right up Jay's alley. With a few years of studying psychology and an imagination out of this world, Jay sought out to write his first book Changed-You'll Never Look at Cheating the Same Way Again. With the epidemic of so many people being unsatisfied with one partner, Jay wanted to shed a light on why it's difficult for men to be faithful. Jay loves spending time working out and playing basketball. His competitive spirit keeps him young at heart. On most occasions, he gets most of his writing done in the barbershop. His favorite thing to do is listen to clients talk while cutting their hair. Some of the stories he hears, inspire him to write. His long-term goal is to write several books. He doesn't want to be stuck in any type of genre. He wants to write as freely as himself.
