James Fleming (1962- ) was born in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and educated at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee where he received a B.A. in English literature. He later earned a degree as a registered nurse at the Milwaukee Area Technical College and practiced for eight years before deciding to attend medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. For the past six years, he has been in Albuquerque, New Mexico training, then working as an Emergency Medicine physician. Tengo Sed is his first book and was named one of the ten best books of the year by Shelf Unbound, an iPad magazine, in the initial year of publication.
