James E. Carroll has been a trial lawyer for forty years practicing criminal and civil litigation in federal and state courts. He grew up in an immigrant family where the characters in the stories his grandparents told him became the stuff of legends. He writes about the dramas and surprises that confront lawyers every day in courtrooms across America from the perspective of an insider. The realism in his novels comes from the eyes of a lawyer who has stood before juries and judges and argued his clients' cases. From the day he entered law school, he wanted only to be a trial lawyer. Now he writes from his home on Cape Cod where he enjoys the beach, an occasional game of golf, spending time with his children and grandchildren and a walk with his Goldendoodle Logan.
