Eileen Joyce Donovan has worked in magazine publishing, advertising, and taught writing classes in colleges in AZ, NC, and NJ. She’s also owned two pubs. Although she’s lived in New York City, upstate New York, Arizona, North Carolina, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, she’s now back in Manhattan. Donovan earned her BA in English/Fine Arts at the College of Mt. St. Vincent and her MA in English at Northern Arizona University. Her historical fiction, Promises, won the 2019 Marie M. Irvine Literary Excellence Award, was nominated for Best Historical Fiction of 2019 by Authors Academy Awards, and was a top ten finalist for the 2020 Author Elite Awards. A Lady Newspaperman’s Dilemma won the 2021 When Words Count nationwide competition. The Campbell Sisters. is her latest historical fiction release and she's working on a contemporary women's/romance novel. She’s also had short stories published in various anthologies and on-line journals, and her latest historical fiction, Her non-fiction essays have appeared in Chicken Soup for the Soul editions. She’s a member of the Historical Novel Society, Women’s National Book Association, Women Fiction Writers Association, and Authors Guild. When she’s not busy writing or researching her next novel, she’s ploughing her way through the stacks of To-Be-Reads that are scattered throughout her apartment or seeing plays with friends.
