Annie Brown is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She believes that to be a social worker is a calling of service to mankind. She worked as a hospice social worker for 12 years and loved the ministry/service as she engaged in helping terminally ill patients at one of their most critical times in life. Though there were times that the profession was challenging the rewards always outweighed the challenges. The resource of hospice is such a valuable service to have when quantity of time for the terminally ill is no longer an option but quality of that time left is. Annie believes so strong in hospice that she wrote about her journey in "My little people a hospice social worker's journey." Currently, Annie works as a contract psychotherapist for Alabama Psychiatry. The work is fulfilling as there is a shortage of mental health providers. Annie lives in a small city in Alabama. She was the mother of four living children until the untimely death of her youngest son. She has eleven grandchildren and two great-grands. Annie loves to cook, read, write and share her talents to help her family and friends. Annie is an avid supporter of support groups. She teaches grief support and educate on mental illness.
