I am from Yorkshire in the UK and retired from a busy professional life in senior management and consultancy roles with big responsibilities. Retirement is certainly less stressful…!

I took an early retirement in 2022 and enjoy being retired. However, as I have some spare time on my hands, I thought it would be a good use of my time to write the occasional, succinct and to the point book on specific subjects I have experience of from my former professional life and other topics, nostalgia, local history and hobbies which I am interested in or have experience of.

Then publish the books on Amazon KDP and the audio versions on Audible.

I’ve even managed to teach myself some new skills in retirement. How to publish on Amazon being one of them, starting with my first books in 2026.

Another new skill I've taught myself in retirement is audiobook narration. I’ve even written (and narrated) a book on how to be an audiobook narrator which includes accompanying step-by-step explanatory videos.
