Andrew Kantar is the author of a trilogy of shipwreck books with a combined sale of more than 10,000 copies. Published by Michigan State University Press, they tell the stories of the three largest ships to be lost on the three largest Great Lakes: 29 MISSING, Michigan Notable Book (1999); BLACK NOVEMBER, Finalist ForeWord Book of the Year (YA nonfiction, 2006) and nominated for the Great Lakes Book Award (2007); and DEADLY VOYAGE. GAME FACE, a pre-teen novel, received a Bronze Medal in the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards (2013). A native of Minneapolis, Andy holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and is an English professor and director of the Writing Center at Ferris State University (Michigan). He also served two years as a Fulbright Scholar in Norway.
