When Dani's sheltered life is turned upside down by her mother's secrets, she finds protection with her estranged outlaw father. Against all warnings, she falls for bad boy biker Shadow. He is beast and beauty sealed in a leather cut with a gun holster. Can Dani learn to live within the club rules? Is she more like her father than she could imagine?
Shadow has grown up among drug addicts, whores, and murderers. The only family he's ever trusted has been the Devil's Dust motorcycle club. He will do anything for a brother, even kill. In fact killing is so easy, he's made a career of it. His one regret is not being able to kill his own worthless mother. When Dani shows up with her provocative temper and innocent charm, Shadow begins to question his violent lifestyle. But can he trust her with his demons?
Will Dani and Shadow let family ties destroy them?

The Patch says she's the property of Shadow, the MC Sargent-at-Arms, who's as handsome as sin, as deadly as a viper, is dark and brooding because of a childhood packed full with hurts and regrets, his life holds secrets and he is a possessive Alpha bad-ass. It wasn't a smooth ride for him and Dani but as soon as he saw her she brought light into his dark unforgiving world, added explosive chemistry followed by hot sex and he started to trust, to hope and to believe that he too could have a piece of Heaven in his dark and lonely Hell.... until one terrible fateful night when he was suddenly proved wrong.
ANYONE who loves the MC world of sexy leather-clad Alpha Bikers, Old Ladies, Cuts, Patches, Sweetbutts (Club whores), raw passion, hot sex, moody heroes, angst, murder, revenge, drama and an action-filled plot will love this. Plenty of character growth as Shadow tries to be worthy of Dani and she has uncorked her bad side making them perfect for each other. There's scenes where knuckles, fists and/or guns were used and a WTF of a CLIFFHANGER ending which will have you gasping in horror because you'll never ever ever see it coming and it'll have you frantically looking for book 2 (which is happily available now). Packed full of interesting characters, dual POV's and the narrators did a fantastic job with all the voices and brought the good, the bad and the ugly scenes to life.
Worth a credit? Loved it, didn't want to stop it, am raving about it and YES I found it very creditworthy.
LUST TEARS & LOVE + THRILLS & DRAMA MC STYLE

There are a few characters that I truly want someone to put a bullet in their head. Lady for one I don't understand how she can call herself a mother. Locks who needs his privates removed and Cassie there is no words.
I believe if you like MC books you will love this one. Enjoy!
Love Dani and Shadow!

Other then the cliffhanger, I really enjoyed this storyline. I loved experiencing the character development of both the Hero and the Heroine. I also really enjoyed watching their love and trust bloom. However, the cliffhanger ending added the type of angst to the story, that I really hate; betrayal of the people you should always be able to count on. I also disliked the immediate negative reaction, of the Hero, who claimed to love the Heroine, to a situation that the Heroine had no hand in. If the Hero doesn’t have to experience deep shame, over his actions, in the next book, I will be very disappointed.
The narration: Joe Arden is always a flawless narrator. Maxine Mitchell, however, has the unique ability to make me cringe because of her habit of making the Heroine sound extremely stupid and immature. I acknowledge that she has talent but the genre that I think would suit her best would be Young Adult books.
I’m off to book 2 to see if our Hero pays for his lack of faith in the woman he claims to love.

Would you consider the audio edition of What Doesn't Destroy Us to be better than the print version?
Have not read the print version.Who was your favorite character and why?
Dani and her character is only getting better. She starts off so mild and unknowing but as time goes on Dani becomes a woman with depth and character. What does Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Great narrators and will listen to them again. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would have loved to listen to this book in all one setting but sleep had to come. Already downloading the next book in the series.Great new series!

This is a good MC romance series with well-written characters and lots of layers. Both Shadow and Dani are relatively likable, even though they are certainly flawed. There's plenty of drama, some more authentic than others, but all within the realm of believability. I don't like spoilers, so if you want more, give it a listen. The verdict? I got Book 2 within a minute or so of finishing this one, and I didn't regret it.
The narration is very good. Both narrators do a great job of performing the various emotions and voices well. They make a good team and would definitely be the plus that would sway me to hit "Add to Cart" if ever I'm on the fence about a book.
