Publisher's summary

Emerson Grove is supposed to be my fresh start—a chance at a new beginning and a better future—yet my past is a force I never saw coming.

Now, my head and my heart are at odds, my future is unknown, and everything I thought I knew is in disarray. Jameson, Ezra, Leo, and Jagger are ghosts from a different time, a different me. One night changed everything and I’m not the girl they once knew.

But how can things go back to the way they were? With secrets, lies, and half-truths unfolding around me, I don’t know who to trust. The threats we once knew have grown and I’m still being kept in the dark.

It seems we aren’t out of the trailer park after all. We’re just dealing with bigger issues in bigger houses. I refuse to stand by and watch my life morph uncontrollably around me. I’m torn and confused, but I’m Luella Carter, and I’m ready to fight.

Watch Me Rise is book two in the Emerson U Series. Scenes may be triggering to some, with violence and explicit sex scenes included.

Wow!!!

I’m loving the way this series is going. So many twists and turns. The narrators are fantastic and give a lot of emotion to the characters. Off to book three.

Sooooo disappointed this isn't as good as Toxic Creek or Bloodline. I'm going to finish it because I started it

Deeper down the rabbit hole

This series is still going strong and I am loving every second of it. We get a lot more of the back story and past and the secrets the guys have been keeping.

We also hear a bit more from the guys POV and who doesn’t love more Joe Arden? Marney is also killing it as Lulu.

That cliffhanger is a doozy so make sure you have book 3 ready to go.

My first 2 star review in over 700 audiobooks.

I seem to find something to enjoy in nearly every audiobook I purchase if it’s in a genre I like, and I completely understand we’re all different and many things can influence a person’s enjoyment of a book.

But I sincerely wish I understood what compelled other listeners to feel invested in this series. I could find it and I really tried.

Sadly, there literally was nothing to grasp onto here. It did not help that the female narrator was all wrong. Her voice went beyond not being appealing or age appropriate. It literally made me cringe at times. She sounded like a goose honking when she voiced sudden bursts of laughter or surprise.

Joe Arden was the one exception to my disappointment in this series - he did his best with the material.

At no point is there any real effort to develop the story of the characters. There’s the “angsty girl with an attitude who is secretly a good fighter with four bad boys who have tattoos and underestimate her abilities”.

Not great

The immaturity of the female lead ruined this for me. Smugness and ignorance is not it for me.
