It's a totally unrealistic Cinderella type whirlwind romance and I loved every minute of it, couldn't stop listening as his patience, thoughtfulness and sexual pull eventually had Natalie (and me) panting for more more more. And, as the dreaded cliffhanger exploded and chaos took the place where happiness once lived, I know the wait to hear answers and revelations will be blissfully short.... just one week, then one week for the finale.... genius!
Dual POV's, no problems with the dual narrators who did a great job in portraying a skittish Schoolteacher with secrets and a haunting past and an Actor who's humbled and is trying to follow his heart rather than his libido.
Worth a credit? If you're a romance lover who can stray from the path of realism and you're not shocked at hot sex and would enjoy Flynn's erotic BDSM dreams where he's introducing Natalie to his preferred sexual lifestyle then you'll be rewarded with a trilogy that's going to be filled with drama, angst, passion, heartache, romance, the promise of hot sex and who knows what else. Yes this is creditworthy and I've already preordered the other two books in this trilogy while they're on sale at under $10 each IMO that's a bargain not to be missed.

In this first novel, we experience the beginnings of Natalie and Flynn’s sweet, whirlwind romance. Yes, I said sweet, as the couple only has a vanilla relationship in this book. The author weaved her tale in a way that sucked me in – the initial meeting, the attraction, the resistance, angst, and a lovely slow-burn to gradual love and sex. I found myself riveted by the good narration and the good writing (with a few exceptions*).
*exceptions:
sometimes Flynn sounded like a woman in his thoughts/speech; and
this novel only spans the course of a few weeks within which the couple believes they are in love – but I thought Natalie was star-struck and Flynn was possessive. I still enjoyed it though!

The issue of rape is addressed; and
Kinky sex or BDSM is a big theme (but it’s not related to the rape).
This series of books (6 books so far), is about a group of friends who like sex with a side of kink. The BDSM in these first 3 novels about Flynn and Natalie is mild. There is consent, care, and love throughout. Never is there action that is physically or mentally cruel or torturous. In this first book, VIRTUOUS, however, there was only one sex scene with kink, and it was a detailed dream. I felt the scene was gratuitous and redundant. However, I still enjoyed this book. So if you are expecting a lot of kink, you won't find it in this book. It comes later in this couple's sexual journey.
If you are not sure you want to invest your time and money at this stage in these 3 books about one couple, I can recommend Marie Force's RAVENOUS (Quantum Series Book 5), a stand-alone which I read first out of order, and because I enjoyed that, I came back and tried the first 3 books. I recommend them.

This trilogy has a little something for everyone…Natalie Bryant has a secret that no one can know, not even her closest friends…now generally I would have stopped the book right there, but I have to admit the “secret” was vital to the story and if I were in her shoes I wouldn’t have told anyone either! Her secret has controlled her life, but she has started over, she is a school teacher in New York, has a great friend/roommate and she loves her life….but she didn’t know what was missing until Mega Movie Star Flynn Godfrey stumbled into her life.
Flynn is a successful movie star, from a family of successful movie stars and he has been burned by love before! Telling your wife you want some kink in your life and having her turn on you calling you a pervert and then sleeping with your director, well it’s enough to have a man swearing off marriage forever, which he has, and publicly! While filming in the park a woman runs through his set, chasing a dog, and he is slammed with the knowledge that he CANNOT let her go…he doesn’t know why, but he has to know her. Natalie has spent a long time getting her life in order, and slamming into Flynn could derail everything…she isn’t open to ANY man’s affections, and she won’t break that vow to herself, even for this movie star.
Hence starts the world wind romance that is the Natalie and Flynn story. It has some rough beginnings…I especially liked when Natalie informed Flynn that she really didn’t care WHO he was, she wasn’t sleeping with him. Nice change of pace from insta-love BS we sometimes read. Their relationship has ups and downs with some kink thrown in…I won’t spoil the story but it was a nice journey to take with two people trying to make things work. It didn’t all go perfect, but life isn’t perfect.
Really liked the narration, A+ on that. Only got 4.5 stars because things felt a bit implausible in book 1, but books 2 and 3 really did make up for it. I felt like I took the journey of their relationship with them and was happy to have known these characters. Can’t wait for more books about this Quantum world!

Natalie and Flynn's relationship moves at a very fast pace but her tragic past doesn't. It's a very well developed story line, with strongly written characters that you can't help but get pulled into. Once you start reading the book you won't want to put it down.
Listening to the audio version is just awesome and I love the dual narration. Both Cooper North and Brooke Bloomingdale bring Marie's passionate words to life.
