Publisher's summary

I took Azalea from her tower. She didn't come willingly, but she's not going anywhere. She's staying right where I have her - no matter her demands for freedom.

Azalea thinks the world outside is full of wonder and beauty. She has no clue about the danger that lurks within every shadow - and hell if I don't want to keep her from finding out.

She's sheltered but not stupid - and damn is she gorgeous. That long stark blonde hair and those crystal blue eyes - hit me in the gut every time I look at her.

The fire in her spirit only makes me crave her more. But, there are secrets in her world - secrets I intend to uncover and protect her from.

What's not a secret? Azalea will belong to me.

Amazing

This book takes place in the same world as Beast. You can read it as a standalone, but you might enjoy it more if you have read Beast. This is a bit of twist to the story of Rapunzel and it is the story of Peter and Azalea.

Azalea was a wonderful character. Kept in a golden cage by her mother, she did escape when possible. She has a bit of a stubborn streak and doesn’t give up hope. She is strong, but with a kind soul

Peter can be a bit of an *** , but he is also fair and has a code. I loved seeing him with Azalea. He took control, but also gave her more freedom then she ever had.

I loved the interaction between them. It made me laugh several times. They clash, which leads to some very scorching and also funny scene’s.

The story has it twist and turns and not everything is as it seems. It will keep your guessing.

in short. It is a great, well written book with great layered and complex characters.

Even Christian Gray had a safeword

I can see why this story would appeal to... but there were so many things that just don't work. The BDSM doesn't both me on principle - but the way it was handled did. There's no safeword. No agreement between Peter and Azalea. Their relationship feels abusive, but it's lampshaded, because Peter realizes he's doing the same thing her mother did. If Azalea were all into it, understanding the situation, and agreeing to it, I would accept that it's just a fantasy. But I don't like the way it's wrapped up in a way I feel is a misunderstanding of how BDSM works.

Even Christian Grey has a safeword.

Now, in all fairness, when I looked past that, for the most part I was able to enjoy it as just a fun, trashy story.

But the finale, the epilogue especially, felt completely unearned. I felt as though the writer was just trying to hit the numbers, without the scene trying to feel natural at all.

Original!

I really enjoyed this rendition of Rapunzel. Very hot, and Wen Ross was excellent. Gonna go check out what else he's done. Hopefully Measha Stone will get more on Audible soon.

Not shabby

This was actually a really good book and I definitely enjoyed it. It's an introduction to BDSM but not in a school room type.

Another OMG listen

This is another great listen foe book 2. Narration was spot on. Really nothing could have been better.
I loved the characters, but the female was a little dumb. Not enough to hate her but really sheltered.
This was my second in the series and will start book 3 tomorrow because I need the whole day to finish in one sitting. Loved this one to death! Get. the series. One of the best I have ever listened to. Thanks.

A new take on Rapunzel

The retelling of fairy tales is one of my favorite romantic listens and Measha Stone delivers again with her rendition of Rapunzel! After visiting Tower and seeing Peter Titon there, Azalea goes to her highly protected home. This does not keep Peter from coming to her and taking her without explanation! She goes from one "prison" to another, and has no idea the reason...yet. Peter is taken with her, and is going to make her his! Stone has woven a dark story, with elements of evil in Azalea's past. There are several ruthless characters we love to hate, a lot of action and a lot of steam. It's just the right balance. Azalea is very innocent in a lot of ways, and it almost seems impossible once her family history is revealed. Peter is a great antihero, with all the attributes of a dom, right down to his compassion with Azalea. We get a glimpse of Ash and Ellie from Beast giving us a little continuity, but this book definitely stands on it's own.

Narration by Wen Ross truly made this book for me. His telling of the story with his incredibly alpha tones made Peter the come to life. He had passion and ruthlessness all rolled into one and created a that overprotective feeling. Normally I don't hear his female voicing, but found his ability to create Azalea easy to listen to and perfect for her. He made her innocent yet wanting. His performance made the book for me.

Tower - 5 Stars

Peter and Azalea’s story is one crazy journey. I loved Ash & Ellie’s story and immediately dived into this one. I love the world that Measha Stone has built. The characters are a mix of gritty and innocent which she weaves together so well. Cannot wait to dive into the next one.

TOO STUPID FOR WORDS!!!! LAZY LAZY WRITING

This is a second book in a series. In the first book, the only way to bring guns onto the estate was to trick the main female character. In this book.... They let SIX armed men come into the estate. FOUR ARMED MEN IN THE HOUSE...TWO ARMED MEN OUTSIDE THE DOOR....REALLY?! WEAK... RIDCULOUS... PLOT CONTRIVENCE.. These men have enemines EVERYWHERE... BUT THEY LET SIX ARMED MEN INTO THEIR COMPOUND!!!!

Also.... 'Daniel' didn't call and warn Patrick... NO... he waited until Patrick arrived to tell him that they had leT SIX ARMED MEN INTO THE COMPOUND!!! SO FREAKING STUPID AND LAZY WRITING... I did not bother to finish this stupid lazy plot... Avoid this author... Unless you are brain dead....
