Neil Strauss
From the author of the blockbuster best seller The Game: a shockingly personal, surprisingly relatable, brutally honest memoir in which the celebrated dating expert confronts the greatest challenge he has ever faced: monogamy and fidelity.
Neil Strauss became famous to millions around the world as the author of The Game, a funny and slyly instructive account of how he transformed himself from a scrawny, insecure nerd into the ultraconfident, ultrasuccessful "pickup artist" known as Style. The book jump-started the international "seduction community" and made Strauss a household name - revered or notorious - among single men and women alike.
But the experience of writing The Game also transformed Strauss into a man who could have what every man wants: the ability to date - and/or have casual sex with - almost every woman he met. The results were heady, to be sure. But they also conditioned him to view the world as a kind of constant parade of women, sex, and opportunity - with intimacy and long-term commitment taking a backseat.
That is until he met the woman who forced him to choose between herself and the parade. The choice was not only difficult, it was wrenching. It forced him deep into his past, to confront not only the moral dimensions of his pickup lifestyle but also a wrenching mystery in his childhood that shaped the man he became. It sent him into extremes of behavior that exposed just how conflicted his life had become. And it made him question everything he knew about himself, and about the way men and women live with and without each other.
He would never be the same again.
Searingly honest, compulsively listenable, this new book may have the same effect on you.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have already recommended this to many friends, who are tired of monogamy and exploring poly variations.Who was your favorite character and why?
Neil, of course. His honesty is apparent in both his writing and his narrating, and it's greatly appreciated. What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
Everyone - except one narrator - did an excellent job. Whoever it is that reads out the various STAGES is abrasive and does not fit the tone of this book at all. The first time I heard him, I actually stopped to make sure I was listening to the same book...I truly hate hearing his announcer style and would prefer someone else had been used (Neil would have been much better, or one of the girls, or practically any other person alive). He thankfully only shows up a few times, but you'll be glad they are over! Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely. This struck so many chords that it will be worth listening to again.Any additional comments?
There is some varying audio quality at work here. Every so often, background hiss will enter the audio, usually at the beginning and end of a section. Also, replacing the grating "Stage" narrator, who sounds unpleasant and feels entirely out of place, would vastly improve this book.Excellent Topic, Book and Read - with only one hic

Recently I took “The Truth”, also from Audible. I was very close of shutting it down, after listening how people are going to rehab to get advices against Human Nature. I could not support the doctors strange and stupid opinions (maybe this is related to my mother being a shrink with similar opinions that she shared with all the kids in the neighborhood, keeping the lion share of brain and life receipts for me? ☹)
As a passionate of Genetics (needed for my Artificial Intelligence and Existence projects) I could not believe that doctors can be so uninformed and patients so week into believing all that crap.
But Neil is reading his own books so his voice from The Game reminds me of a familiar nice story about the fact that we receive a Life and a Brain, both without User Manuals, and after more than 2000 years of civilization, we are still struggling to swim between pedagogical and imperial lies.
I decided to listen to all this crap while driving from Rome to Milan through Toscana's grape yards and castles around the highway. Until it happened. Neil said, "The emperor has no clothes" and erased a very long lists of diagnostics about his hardware and software. Then a new list of revelations begins and descriptions of long trips to Vegas and Paris.
I saw 30 years ago a 4-hour movie called "Mondo Cane" and I had the proof that the Human Nature is completely different than the rules imposed by societies, for their own agenda, and my expertise in Mathematics documented the whole proof – now, in the book, you are going to witness a personal life transformation and breakthrough artificial norms.
Hear the rest for yourself, as it is too revolutionary to eat it in one sentence
Enjoy!

There are some parts in the book that get very descriptive of the poly world and were tough to get through. Stick it out, you’ll be impressed with how the book ends.
Would HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who feels like they struggle with their romantic relationships.
