Book 2 of a series. Can be read as a standalone but recommend reading in order so you know the background in depth.

Crime drama storyline with steamy meet-cute and passionate MF romance.

Very passionate scenes. References to Alpha male and dominant tendencies, although the sexy times are mostly vanilla.

The narration is good.

The female narrator does a fine job with Nicki’s narration, but not so good with Mark’s POV.

As mouthwatering and drool-worthy Mark goes undercover as a Stripper in Nicki's Club he isn't prepared for the sizzling off the charts sexual chemistry that hits him as soon as he's asked to audition in front of Nicki (and what a hot mental picture that was!). Naive and trusting Nicki is blown away by handsome Mark and her dormant libido goes into overdrive. But he's there to do a job, to find out just who is pulling the strings in a Mafia money laundering operation..... and everything points to the woman he can't keep his hands off. There's also another undercover Agent but nobody knows who he, or she, is or if they're alive or dead because there's already been a murder.

It's a sexy, suspense romance which is fast paced and has lots of action with descriptive scenes and interesting characters which had me guessing right up until the end as to just who the good and bad guys were. There's plenty of passion, humor and angst too as Mark's past mentally tortures and haunts him making him a confused jerk towards Nicki and very nearly cost him a happy future.

Worth a credit? Sex, suspense and secrets.... it was an enjoyable listen and so it has to be a YES.

CLUES, SUSPICIONS & A SIZZLING ROMANCE

The twist at the end was a letdown. The story behind the money laundering was a bit weird. There was a lot that just didnt feel right. Her mouthing Im sorry and leaving on the countdown, getting the old guy and money ....when time was an issue, the whole skin cancer scar issue was so unbelievable, leaving his briefcase unlocked in a room he rents from the person he is investigeting and having business cards .... come on. There is the lack of connection to characters when he goes to see his sister and she doesnt go with him. There is the entire gas scene that was odd in how it was handled,then the hotel having a fire escaoe in the bathroom .... just WHAT? and who heads back when someone is trying to kill them. He leaves with her without grabbing his own keys, his phone or his briefcase with laptop so all the evidence is left for everyone to find. Then there are a bit too many sex encounters which is really all they have done before professing their love .... oh wait they do that during sex. She has no ideaa out the one file thats on her computer desktop, she's never noticed big withdrawals from her bank, And finally we knock out a guy in meth hired to kill and leave him in her appt untied. .. I didnt walk away liking it.

I was sick of the mark character. All he does is accuse and treat her bad. accuse/assume the heroine is like his ex wife. He doesnt deserve her and she shouldn't take him back. I almost didnt finish it. She forgave him to easily. Maybe. My mom likes to tell me when argue, " do you want to be happy or right"
