I enjoyed the overall story and the characters in Strawberry Cake. The pacing itself wasn’t rushed, but the events in the story unfolded very quickly. Since the book is short, that made sense and didn’t take away too much from the overall experience.

As for the narration, the male narrator, Jay Parker, did a great job and was easy to listen to. Unfortunately, the female narrator, Elisabeth Knight, sounded robotic and monotone (sorry 😶‍🌫️), which was distracting at times and pulled me out of the story.

Overall, Tanja Longoria writes cute, quick reads, and I’ve enjoyed several of her books. Because of that, listening to one on Audible was still an easy choice despite the mixed narration experience.
