About this listen

The first time Virginia went to the dance club On The Edge, she only wanted to find out what a night in a vampire’s arms would be like. Anando showed her it could be much, much more than she had imagined.

Over the next few months, every time she returned he continued to stretch her imagination and the boundaries she tried to set on their relationship.

Soon, though, Anando’s limits were tested as much as Virginia’s when their sexual encounters gave way to feelings neither of them had expected.

This is the entire Out of the Box series, volumes 1 through 10, collected in one audiobook. It also includes the freebie "Dancing" which is available on the author’s website. It does not include new material.

HAWT!!!!!!!!!

There is just something about this series that draws you in and hold your attention the whole time. Kallysten really has a talent for crating a beautiful tale that easily enthralls the reader.

Virginia is a great character, being curious myself I could really relate. Anando is delicious and charismatic. Loved this pairing and they make a delightful couple.

This book is beyond steamy!! Oh holy, hot and heavy!!! Seriously sit in a tub of ice while reading this!! Do not make the mistake of reading in public. You will be blushing and feeling naughty, everywhere. Loads of smexyiness throughout, each encounter hotter than the last.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Hollie Jackson, who does an awesome read. She has a great pace that helps draw out the heat. I love the slight rasp in her tone, it makes naughty bits really sing.

I am very happy I listened to the whole series in one book rather than reading it piece mail on my Kindle. I would have hated having to wait for the next part. This book merges the story and I really could not tell how it was broken up previously.

I am not always in love with vampires, but Kallyston really makes it HAWT!! I love her style and voice as an author, I really hope she does a smexy bear shifter series to really make me happy!

Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.

Out of the Box Relationship

Out of the Box is about Virginia and Anando. Virginia went to the dance club On the Edge to find out what it would be like to be in the arms of a vampire for just one night.

Virginia is naive about sex. Her curiosity brought her to Anando. Through Anando, she learned more about sex than she realized. As Virginia craved for Anando after each sexual encounter, she kept coming back to On the Edge to meet with Anando. Soon she has to set up rules to keep their relationship as impersonal as she can without risking her heart.

Anando, on the other hand, has baggages. Over the centuries since he has became a vampire, he believed that every woman wants to be turned eventually. Virginia is different. As he tried to stay away from her, he is the one that is breaking every rules that Virginia set up.

This complete series of Out of the Box is a wonderful story of Virginia and Anando. Virginia has a lot to learn about life and Anando has to learn to trust again. Both needs each other yet don't realized it until Anando left Virginia without a word and when Virginia left Anando, he knows where to find her. Two strong characters with the only option to find happiness is to risk their hearts.

The narrator, Hollie Jackson has a wonderful voice to listen to. She gave Virginia the perfect personality of being curious and taking a chance to discover her sexuality with Anando and his box of sex toys. The narrator gives the characters emotions which makes this story great to listen to.

I was given this audiobook by the author via Audiobook Blast in exchange of an honest review. I was not compensated or influenced in any way in writing this review.

I love Kallysten’s books – perfect escapist reads

AudioBook Review
Stars: Overall: 5 Narration: 4 Story: 5

Follow Virginia as she takes the plunge to discover just what is so intriguing about vampires in this complete collection of ten novellas from Kallysten. One of the best things about this story, and all of Kallysten’s stories for me, is the emotional connection that you develop with the characters, human or vampire, and the issues that are recognized by many of us, from personal or friend experience.

In this story, Virginia is bored and after multiple years of not doing the daring thing, at 33 she decides to go to a known ‘Vampire friendy” nightclub to see what the fuss is about. Without any real plan, but open ended intentions, she is drawn to a smooth, suave, sexy and handsome vampire named Anando. Instantly their connection is electric, and although she is nervous, she is also too intrigued and tired of doing the ‘safe’ thing to back away.

What starts as a one-night of abandoned pleasure for Virginia soon becomes an undeniable attraction between the two of them as Anando slowly helps her to discover her own inner strength and fuels her confidence both with and without him. And then, Kallysten throws a monkey wrench into the works, and the story turns darker and sadder: they both have issues that their own lack of communication and misplaced concerns for one another pull them apart.

A rollercoaster of emotions that are only offset or enhanced by the sexual tensions and sensual moments and other heartfelt interactions where the two share their secrets and fears, this story will have you squirming, smiling and even teary at some points, even as you want more. Secondary characters are introduced to play off the couple, and perhaps even to play with: but they all arrive in ways to make you want more.

Narration in this story is provided by Hollie Jacobs, and she does a good job presenting the characters and not over-reaching for ddramatically different tones for character voices, making good choices to change delivery speed and emphasis to better delineate the characters. As Virginia, her voice gradually takes on a more confident approach and becomes less tentative as Virginia herself starts to grow and become more confident: a nice combination of performance meeting the text in a way that enhances both.

I love Kallysten’s books – perfect escapist reads with emotional and character content and development that feels familiar even in highly fictional settings. You can listen to this audiobook in sections, as broken up by the 10 novellas it contains, or go for it and listen to it all at once….but listen. Or read. You won’t regret it.

I received an audiobook copy of this title from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Nice vamp falling in love story...

This is erotica...so be fore warned... the story was actually sweet in parts, intense in others...but all in all it was pleasurable to listen to. I actually skipped like a half of a chapter at one point just to get to the action after the (H) left or rather ran away.... loved the HEA... ending...but I kinda hope there is a book 2 because I definitely fill like the story is not possibly over yet...

OK narration...could be a whole lot better, but totally tolerable to enjoy this story...

Nice credit or sale..

Human Love With a Vampire

What made the experience of listening to Out of the Box the most enjoyable?

I am a avid paranormal book reader and listener. I believe the timbre of the voice of the narrator contributes greatly to the enjoyment of any audio book. This narrator had it in spades and of course it was a great story line.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I would say Anando for sure, mainly for when we are let in to his background and for the reason of his broken heart.

Have you listened to any of Hollie Jackson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

After going to her web site, I did not find any of her books that I have read. Would really like to come across her in the future.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I really hate this question when asked because my mind is not very inventive. I would just say Loving a Vampire. I know it is not great but I always try.

Any additional comments?

This story is of a human woman and her love affair with a vampire. This is not a dark romance where vampires are blood thirsty and live in secret, but a very sensual, sexy, romantic story. Most of the first half was just that, but it grew into a great story line. I would really love to review more from Kallysten.

Vampire Erotic Romance done right!!!

I just finished this book thinking wow I really enjoyed that and can't wait to listen to more. I didn't realize this was a series but I don't think reading order is required because I love it the way it was. I'm very glad I got to hear this complete set in one audiobook, I don't enjoy serials so I probably never would have tried it in pieces.

These characters are fun and a little to serious but super sexy. Anando is a really sexy Vamp who wants Virginia as soon as he sees her and Virginia is out to find a Vamp for a night of experimenting. Both of them aren't planning or looking for more but the more time they spend together the closer they become. He is afraid of love because of the past he really is hoping that she might be the one to show him everyone isn't looking to get something from him! Each sex scene ( and there are a lo of them) is hotter than the one before! This isn't your typical vampire story, more of a contemporary romance/erotic romance with a Vampire. It's a really nice change!!!!

The narrator was good, she has a great sexy voice for erotica.

sinful

the story starts with a bang and then some. Virginia decides to see what vampires are like and gets more than she bargained for. there is a lot of sexual exploration and with that comes some explicit content. where most stories of this nature end up having at least one cheesy or awkward moment this narrator is actually perfect for the story. her voice rolls both male and female storyline in your ear like chocolate and sin. the timbre and candance perfect for every moment. through all of it though the story is actually very loving and the characters grow in learning about themselves and each other. loved it.
