The passion is not unrequited and the two quickly move to marathon lovemaking sessions - described with such detail it’s as if the listener has been issued a direct challenge not to blush.

Killers are also after Suzanna, by the way. But it’s okay. Because John Huntington is a former Navy SEAL warrior…because of course he is.

There were a lot of things I liked about this Novel. For example, I liked the Hero’s no BS attitude, the overall plot and the narration.(mostly) However, there were a few things that drove my crazy; the author’s choice to use the word Penis and vagina. Hey, I was born and raised in the Bible Belt so my Mama taught me how to be proper but, the constant and frequent use of the word Penis, drove me bat shit crazy, not to mention that it definitely ruined my mood for the erotic side of romance. I also was disappointed with the abrupt ending to the book, especially since there wasn’t even an epilogue. This novel could have been so much more if there were just a few tweaks, here and there. For example, duel or duet narration. The narrator’s breathy male voices didn’t really fit the strong Alpha male characters. The reason for the attempted assassinations, was pretty thin. Perhaps some inner dialogue from the antagonist would have made a difference. Finally, two or three more chapters to experience more of the conflict resolution with a glimpse of the HEA.

Overall, it was a decent Escape Package listen, however, credit worthy? I’m thinking, not so much.

Lots of action, romance and suspense. Good listen. John is a seal, a man of action, someone to be counted on, but...I wish Suzanne would give him back his b...alls. He was more fun with them.

Alpha Males Anyone?

This is the beginning of the midnight series. John is a alpha male to the extreme, he knows what he wants and will do what it takes to get it or her. Of course he has to protect her from the enemy and try to protect her from his intense sexual needs. After one taste of her he has to have more. The book had me totally engrossed from beginning to the end. I will continue with this series. Worth every penny save your credit for a more expensive book.

I listen to a lot of books. This one was heavy on the sex and light on character development. It had a decent plot but 1-2 added chapters with the characters getting to know each other would have earned it a 4 or possibly 5 star from me.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes, the book was so so in my opinion as was the performance.

This was basically a book describing the physical relationship...there was a bit of a mystery woven through but if you want to read for a thrilling plot - you should pass on this one. It IS action packed in the physical department and if you want to listen to something hot that gets the motor revving than you might like this one. It is NOT for the deep thinker and has no intricate mystery or plot hidden within.

The Navy SEAL aspect is minimal and didn't really have any effect on the storyline.

1 in a series of 3...I got the first 2 on sale. MAY purchase the 3rd to finish the series, but only if it's under $6.

I wouldn't buy them outright or use a credit.
