Inspired by the myths and folktales about Asmodeus from The Book of Tobit.
“Blood was spilled on the holy land, for the worst kind of lust was driven by the desire for God.”
Lace, white, everything frilly and pretty. The theme to Sara’s life used to be that of a princess, one she romanticized. But when her previously perfect world turned upside down, Sara became convinced that she was cursed. She hid herself in the shadows to spare others from the agony she brought along.
The only person she could never hide from was her adopted brother.
Tristan Marcolf wasn’t the run-of-the-mill rich and successful politician. It was his ethereal good looks that left others bewildered. So much so, they wondered if his looks were a gift from God. Only the cursed gift gave Tristan everything he wished for, except for the one thing he truly desired.
His adopted sister, Sara.
Tristan unravels as Sara starts to slip out of his grasp and into the arms of another. With Tristan’s unquenchable thirst for her spiraling out of control, he gives into the demon inside and makes an unforgivable mistake; one he cannot take back.
Loosely based on the story of Asmodeus, the Demon of Lust, who loved to play with mortals. Asmodeus orchestrated settings to prove to God that humans would choose pleasures of the flesh and materialistic desires over the simplicity of love. The two souls set out to prove him wrong and humble his vanity, but rarely do demons give in without a fight.
There are no heroes in this book, only villains. It consists of explicit content and dubious and graphic situations that some listeners might find offensive.

Holy h0tness...the things this man says and does 😍🥵. I knew this book would be h0t but
d🥵mn.
Tristan is everything I love in a H. He's deliciously män!pulat!ve and of course a level of j€alous/p0ss€ssive that is only acceptable in books *swoon*. His 0bs€ssion with Sara is intense, dark and tw!sted. He may not be allowed to have her, but that doesn't mean he'll let someone else try and take her from him.
From the first chapter, you can see how Sara slowly chips away at Tristan's reserved and impassive exterior and it adds such an amazing layer to their relationship. Sara is such a great mix of kindness and strength. She's understanding and caring but with a strong backbone, unafraid to challenge Tristan or stand up for others.
Of course, there are many obstacles for these two, the biggest being they are st€psiblings. Tristan may have realized his feelings for Sara are far from "br0therly", but Sara still needs some convincing 😈. Definitely heed the tr!gger warning because Tristan's methods of convincing aren't always "c0ns€n$ual"
I absolutely loved this book, and Tristan has cemented himself as one of my top book boyfriends. The love these two have for each other, even when they may not see it for what it truly is, was amazing!

Right before her 20th birthday. This book may have triggers for some. Maya Sterling and Xander Marceauare both new narrators to me. They both did a great job narrating this book in duet style narration.
