3.5 stars! Lavender Moon is a cute, quick omegaverse read (definitely on the shorter side, almost novella length). I’ve read and loved Sarah Blue’s paranormal romances and recently got hooked on omegaverse so of course had to dive into hers.

This was a fun one! It almost felt like two different reads because of how it started at the club vs once they’re together and things get all spicy. Luna is an omega who starts working at a local scent club, Lavender Moon. She has really wanted Ian, who happens to be her stepbrother (they were never raised together), and knows they can never be because he already has a pack with an omega, or can they…? Turns out not only does he Ian own the club she started working at, but he’s also into her and reciprocates her feelings!

It was sweet seeing how their pack already worked between Ian, Ezra, and James (their omega) and how Luna was the perfect missing piece to their pack that they never thought would come true. Lots of group activities and spicy times once they’re all together. It felt both equal parts spicy and low angst! The ebook is on KU and I grabbed the audio during a recent audible sale.

I ordered a couple of the authors signed paperbacks from her website and saw this one with his foil cover and I was like....yep you are coming home to me! I totally am a raven liking all the shines hehe.

I was so happy to see what her mom got coming to her, she was a vile woman and I felt so bad for her. She grew up with no one but her stepbrother being there for her, which her mom degrading her at every turn and her stepdad doing nothing but letting it happen. I was glad to see everyone had some karmic justice thrown their way and Luna's mom is alone after pushing away everyone she should have been loving and cherishing. What a waste of an Alpha!

I enjoyed the interaction with Luna and her different pack members. I thought James was so endearing and loved seeing him come out of his shell and find someone he could be validated wholeheartedly and would know what he is going through. Loved his gardening and appreciated he didn't shy away from affection from her. It could have gone a different way with 2 omegas, but he was the one who suggested it and little by little allowed her to be a part of his family and see the real him. Ezra was my favorite of all of them! His personality was adorable, his passion for his job and showing Luna off, and his cheekiness and sexiness when it comes to his pack. He was feeling like something was missing since he wants to be an over affectionate Alpha and Luna helps complete him (and James started to let his Alphas in more so that is an added bonus). He made me laugh a lot in this one. Ian is the more dominant Alpha and finally gets his head out of his booty and takes what's his and eventually his pack. I liked how he figures out what she does (I laughed so hard once I realized what was going on haha) and the sexy times between him and Luna were fabulous. Enjoyed the swoon worthy ones more, where he wanted to take care of her, taking her cues and being a good alpha for his omega, and the way he treated James was so heartwarming too. and on top of that how he stood up for Luna....drool hahaha. so possessive and protective! Not to forget Luna, I liked her going outside her comfort zone and dancing at the club. I liked her scenes when she was figuring out her sexuality and being comfortable in her own skin. She stood up for herself in some instances, gave Ian the attitude right back haha, but wouldn't have a backbone with her mom which frustrating me but I understood why. Overall I enjoyed her as the FMC and was jealous of her pack haha.

Now I didn't give this 5 stars because the flow sometimes seemed very disjointed, which I am not used to from this author. I am used to her transitioning really well between scenes and the dialogue between characters but this has some chapters being very choppy and just felt a little unedited if that makes sense. I am fine with instalove/fated mates/packs because I love OV romances and that happens quite a bit so that wasn't an issue for me. I stilled enjoyed this book but it wasn't my favorite of hers. I still love her contemporary "taboo/steamy" books the most <3

***2026 Audiobook Review***

Adding a little update to this since I listened to it for the first time on audio this month. I enjoyed the audio, I think the female narrator did a much better job and if it had just been her I would have given 5 stars. I felt her characters, her performances, her emotion so well and speeding up to my normal 1.5-1.6X speed she was perfect. I already own a lot of audiobooks with her in it but I dont think I have listened to them before (a lot of omegaverses!). The male narrator on the other hand was only good for some of these characters to be honest. You could tell which ones he was comfortable with and excelled at, and which he didnt. I do which they had gotten another narrator in for Ezra to be honest. The other two characters/performances were good and I enjoyed all the emotions and steam with the characters. Ezra’s accent was too inconsistent and not feeling authentic so that is where I had to limit the audio and overall story to 4 stars. I still really enjoyed it and went right into the novella and bought Cherry Bomb from the author (hope it gets an audio too!).

I purchased this audiobook expressly because it's a duet narration performance.

NO SPOILERS

DUAL narration is when the male voice actor performs all characters, whether male or female, in the chapters written from a male's perspective. The female voice actor's performance is delivered vice versa.

DUET narration is when the male actor performs all of the male characters' voices in all of the chapters. The female actor's performance is delivered vice versa.

Both Alyssa Rogge and Duncan Cole were excellent. Both of them gave each of their characters unique voices. I'll be looking for more audiobooks performed by them.

Alyssa gave emotive voices to each of the female characters. There was never a question of whether she was reading the narration, performing a character's role, or even which character she was portraying. She nailed the voice of traditional Omegas spot on.

Duncan's characters all had different voices and accents. His performance was perfect. He had to give voice to more characters because of the pack and he met that challenge wonderfully.

The story is obviously set in an Omegaverse world. It has the stepbrother/stepsister taboo element. It lacks violent Alphas, corrupt Omega protection agencies and other types of Omegaverse darkness. I do enjoy that darkness but it's also nice to have a change of pace to a kinder world from time to time.

I love the idea of a scent club where Alphas can go to enjoy not only the beauty of the Omega dancers but also their scents. While performing, the Omegas are kept as safe as they wish yet are given the chance to be as adventurous as they want.

Once Luna gets her pack the scenes become very spicy. Her Alphas and Omega are devoted and possessive, even to the point of obsession at times.

The story is solid but lacks something. It would benefit from some type of challenge. Maybe a twist, a bit more conflict, or some other difficulty to overcome together would help? I deducted one Star because of this.

I highly recommend this performance of Lavender Moon with the duet performance adding to the storyline. Five Stars for the performances and 4 Stars for the storyline.

I picked this up knowing the plot wasn’t going to be the star, and yeah… it really isn’t.

Luna is this lavender‑vanilla very naive Omega dancer at Lavender Moon, with an aweful mother.
Ian is the cedar‑and‑orange Alpha she’s been hung up on (and he is her stepbrother, not blood related and is 6 years old older), Ezra is the ginger Scottish Alpha with glasses (the best friend), and James is the cinnamon‑clove Omega who is oddly aloof in his pack.

The omegaverse setup felt oddly incomplete, or it’s too far fetched. The light breeding with zero discussion didn’t help.
And the “stepbrother” thing? I’m good. I don’t need to hear that word again for a while.

The narrators Alyssa Rogge and Duncan Cole were genuinely great and carried a lot of the emotional weight.

Luna just isn’t my kind of FMC: too innocent, a bit too stupid to live, you know, not enough backbone.
This story had moments that worked even if the worldbuilding made me raise an eyebrow more than once.

It wasn’t for me I guess.
