Three Audible Leaders Named to the EMPower List 2020

Three headshots of Audible employees Ara Tucker, Brian Quinn and Anne Eni sit side by side against a black frame. They are all looking straight to camera and smiling.

The EMpower Role Model Lists showcase business leaders who are breaking down barriers at work and are working hard to smash the glass ceiling for ethnic minorities in the UK and Europe and for people of color in the US and Canada.

Anne Erni, Chief People Officer, Ara Tucker, Head of Talent and Culture, and Brian Quinn, US Public Policy Director, share why being chosen for this list is meaningful for them both professionally and personally.

EMpower Ethnic Minority Executives 2020

“One of my earliest memories (I couldn’t have been more than four or five) is my mom hosting a gathering with other black women professionals to share career advice with younger black women. I’ve been so fortunate to have so many accomplished and inspiring black women in my life, showing me how to be the difference I want to see in the world. I am honored and humbled to be part of this next generation of role models.”

Empower Advocate Role Model 2020

“It’s truly an honor to be recognized for something I consider to be both a professional and personal mission. My career has benefited greatly from having sponsors and mentors who invested in and supported me. I feel that it's my duty and privilege to pay it forward to high-potential minority talent. We as advocates and allies are on a continuum of learning, awakening and being woke on issues related to what minorities experience in the workplace. My goal is to create even more opportunities and spaces for diverse voices to be heard, amplified and realized.”

Brian Quinn, US Public Policy Director

Empower Ethnic Minority Future Leaders 2020

“I think about this poem as it relates to being selected for this list. The poem was written by Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, civil rights leader and former President of Morehouse College. I graduated from Morehouse College. Also, the late Congressman Elijah Cummings recited the poem in his first floor speech to Congress when he joined in 1996. I worked for Congressman Cummings prior to joining Audible, from 2010-2016. Both leaders influenced me directly and indirectly.”

I have only just a minute,
Only sixty seconds in it.
Forced upon me, can’t refuse it.
Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it.
But it’s up to me
to use it.
I must suffer if I lose it.
Give account if I abuse it.
Just a tiny little minute,
but eternity is in it.

Dr. Benjamin Mays
