Audible Inc. has announced the casting of Regina Hall (The Hate U Give, Girls Trip, Little) in the lead role in the highly anticipated upcoming romance The A.I. Who Loved Me from bestselling author Alyssa Cole, and Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project, The Office, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me) in the role of a smart home device named Penny. This captivating romantic comedy with a sci-fi twist will release on December 3rd and is currently available for preorder at www.audible.com/aiwholovedme.
In addition to being available on Audible, The A.I. Who Loved Me will be made available to members of Audible Escape – a subscription package offering unlimited access to thousands of heartwarming romantic stories from beloved and best-selling authors, as well as original love stories produced by Audible that you can’t get anywhere else. Kaling is the face of Audible Escape’s ‘Love Love’ campaign, which launched last month.
Regina Hall commented: “Performing in the Audible Original The A.I Who Loved Me, was a completely new and creatively challenging experience. Each character had their own voice, personality and emotions and I had fun crafting each and every one of them— particularly for the bio-human! I’m so excited for audiences to hear this amazing and truly unique love story.”
Mindy Kaling commented: “I’ve been a sucker for love stories since I was an awkward middle-schooler, so I absolutely loved getting to be the voice of Penny in the new Audible Original The A.I. Who Loves Me. It was so fun to work on and the story is ridiculously juicy and romantic. Plus, I got to talk in a sassy, sexy robot voice so that was pretty cool too.”
Alyssa Cole commented: "I was already super excited about getting to work on this project with Audible, but my soul basically left my body when I was told about the casting. Mindy Kaling! Regina! Freaking!! Hall!!! Reading something I wrote! I still don't quite believe it, but I feel incredibly lucky and can't wait to hear how it turns out."
