In weeks after the September 11 attacks, 18-year-old Mansoor Adayfi was kidnapped by Afghan militia and sold to US forces for bounty money. After months of interrogations, he was sent to the US military prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, as one of its first prisoners. Like the nearly 800 other men imprisoned at Guantanamo, Adayfi didn’t know why he was imprisoned or for how long. Another excellent short Winslow/Ed Harris collab
There are several Don Winslow short stories read by Ed Harris on Audible, he is a really good narrator and perfect for them. This story draws you in and keeps your interest. It could have gone on a bit longer to be more satisfying in the finale, but is still excellent.

This really hit home.
I joined the USMC on my 17 birthday in December 1971. I vividly remember that time period. I can't express how much this audio book has affected me. Tears, sorrow, and an overwhelming feeling of the loss of my childhood. If you don't get it that's okay. Maybe you are too young to understand the mood of the country at this time. Hopefully you and your children will never have to experience anything like this.
