The narrator's British accent sounded fine to these American ears, but oh my the southern accents were unbelievably awful. I don't understand how a b..Show More »ook can be released with such mediocre narration. The story was ok, but overly formula sex scenes (with a touch of Shades of Gray); silly and didn't fit. The one at the very end of the book ... the one where the reader would think the story has already ended ... was over the top not needed.
Actually I tried to return this book and wasn't able to. Sorry to have a negative review as there is talent in both the writer and narrator, but it just didn't come together for me in this story.
I really like this series but it seems that about 90% of this book could be a ditto of Sweet Home. I would have enjoyed it more if Sweet Home was dua..Show More »l POV and 2 hours longer. I did enjoy hearing it from Rom's POV but I felt like I listen to the same story told twice. One good thing about that is that David Radford does a much better Rome than Anna Parker-Naples.
If you listened to Sweet Home you can skip this one. But I am really looking forward to the rest of the series.
Austin and Lexi had a difficult beginning and awkwardly built a friendship that turned into the most unlikely couple. Their story is so heart wrenchi..Show More »ng and complicated you just can't see how they are going to come out on the other side. If you liked Molly and Rome's story, you will love Austin and Lexi's story just that much more. I love that even though they are each fighting their own personal demons, that each one is able to help the other overcome life's hardships. There are times in this story that are just heartbreaking. Tillie Cole found a thoughtful way to explain/explore a very difficult subject -- I though I knew about this condition but living it through Lexi gave me a whole new perspective.
Stephanie Bentley gave a very compelling narration. She told this story with so much feeling and emotions. This is my first narration by Stephanie and hope it won't be my last.
Most definitely worth the credit. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series.
Sweet Hope hits all the emotional buttons. Tillie Cole certainly knows how to wring a girl out and leave her hanging out to air dry. This books just..Show More » hits you right in the guts but then it gives you a belly rub to make you feel better. I know this is a lot of analogies but I don't want to give anything away that would detract from others enjoying this amazing story. The love story between Allie and Elpi develops in such a natural way and goes through all the growing pains, then some of a high intensity relationship. And as in any great series, all of favorite characters make an appearance. Love this group of friends/family. This is my favorite book in the series.
Tessa does a really good job narrating this story but I wanted Elpi's voice to be a bit more gritty and menacing. At times his voice was just to feminine.
Absolutely worth the credit. I'm really looking forward to hear Levi's story next. This is an amazing series.
This story just has all the feels. Sweet, quiet Levi finds his love is the perfect way to end this series. By listening to the other books in the se..Show More »ries, we all know that Levi ends up with Elsie but who could have predicted her story. Tillie Cole is one the best romance authors at creating compelling stories that keep us enthralled to the very last word. This story effectively deals with several serious life issues while always keeping romance as the main objective of the story. This series needed to be sweet to deal with the complex issues presented. I love that Tillie Cole was able to broach these issues without overpowering the romance.
The narrators were good but some of those Italian accents needed help. But overall a very good listen.
Absolutely worth the credit. I have listened to over 1100 romance/erotica books in my library and this series rates in my top 10. A positively amazing series.
