Charlotte (aka Charlie) needs to disappear quickly and she does it in New Orleans and now with a new look, a new job and a new identity she has finall..Show More »y found her true self working in a Tattoo Shop. One year in and late one night a Bachelor Party come staggering in and that's when she meets the gorgeous Simon. Simon is instantly captivated by the tattooed, dark haired beauty with colored streaks in her hair but is it the booze clouding his mind. So he returns the next day to find out that she was even more breathtaking but he can't get her to say yes to a date..... until persistency, a lack of Charlie's willpower and a terrible accident brings them together. But Charlie has secrets that could harm Simon's political career, she's a closed book and sooner or later her past is going to catch up with her and it's just a case of when and at what price.
I usually go for bad boys and Simon is anything but that, he's thoughtful, kind, caring, understanding and doesn't pressurise Charlie for answers and I loved him for that. It was Charlie who was keeping secrets and, as usual, they're kept too long with devastating results. There's no surprises for the listener as Charlie's past life is told from the start but it's a lovely romance that unfolds between two likeable characters who deserve each other. There's romantic times, sexy times and heartbreaking confusing times and the worst enemy is Charlie's self doubt..... well that and her family and the F.B.I.
Worth a credit? Dual POV's, good narration and a story that I couldn't wait to get back to so, IMO, that all makes for a nice creditworthy listen.
Meghan March knows how to write a romance that sizzles! These stories are extraordinarily written with fascinating characters who are multi-layered an..Show More »d grow as they fall in love. Their sexy and lustful inner dialogue, and banter between the H/h was so sweet, swoon worthy and brought a blush to my checks. Con was the perfect alpha male without being too dominate, and Vanessa was so much more than just a rich girl.
While things between Con and Vanessa were heating up, Con was searching for answer and on a path that could ultimately destroy any future these two could have. The suspense and the surprising plot twists, makes this so much more than a romance.
Arndt, and York's performance was fantastic, and I love how they bring the characters to life.
Loved this story, and look forward to the next in the series. The romance was SWEET, the sex scenes were HOT, and the plot and suspense were the perfect balance between light and dark. Definitely worth a credit!
Beneath These Chains is another great addition to the series! While I found books one and two had more intensity and depth, there is no denying I LOVE..Show More »D Lord's character. He was confident, fiercely protective, sexy as sin, and wasn't afraid to go after what he wanted. Lord was all alpha, but never tried to dominated Elle. He encouraged her, and accepted her for who she truly was. With no doubt, Lord was an awesome!
Elle's an independent flirt from the rich side of the town, who plows her way into Lord's life, and doesn't take no for answer. She's searching for something and hoping with Chain's voodoo magic, it will magically find it's way to Lord's pawnshop. So when she goes to Chain's hoping to get hired, she wasn't taking "no" for answer.
Lord suspects there's an alternative motive for Elle's wanting to work at his pawnshop, but for now he's willing to indulge her. From day one, the sexual tension and chemistry between them was hot, but Elle's best friends with his brother's girlfriend, so he's determine not to give in to his desires. However, when a rival comes to Chains, and tries to lay a claim to Ellie, Lord's protective instincts kick in, and he publically claims her. To keep her safe from others, he demands to be the one to take her back and forth to work. For Lord, it becomes more than just trying to keep her safe, he's playing for keeps and works to breakdown her walls and reel her in.
Lord comes under suspension when a few acquaintances turn up dead, and when the murder weapon is found, he will have to do his own investigating to ensure the real murder is revealed.
The narration is AWESOME! York and Arndt are two of my favorite narrators, and I love their performances! This duo does a fantastic job bringing the story and characters to life.
A highly addictive series, which I've fallen in love with. It's a light listen with a good balance of angst, romance, sexy witty banter and suspense. Well worth the time and credit!
When I started this listen I really didn't think I was going to like Titan (the hero) oh yes, he was a handsome, sexy Billionaire however he was also ..Show More »arrogant, self absorbed and self-serving too. But I should have known better, because in the skilful hands of Meghan March, she didn't change his character but rather let in flaws and vulnerabilities and gave him someone worthy to love and be loved by so he could forgive himself for a tragedy in his past.... and that someone was Yve.
Yve had a lot of demons in her closet.... an abusive marriage, a dishonorable family history and a violent and possessive ex that was about to be released from Prison. However she was strong, feisty and an independent businesswoman who was managing a Vintage women's designer clothes shop. But slowly the threats to herself, and the business she loved, mounted and her salvation would come from the arms of the one man she least liked..... the obnoxious, demanding, challenging and frustrating Titan.
Somehow these two characters were drawn to each other, they were very similar - both were hard working, focused, independent and both had scars, both mentally and physically, put there by their pasts. They were both also drawn to each other and, even though the dislike and animosity was there, they both craved the others touch... which led to some passion filled encounters. Then, as the threat level rose and the danger escalated, so too did their feelings for one another and an unbreakable bond started to take shape. But it wasn't until lives were threatened and blood was spilled that all secrets were outed, feelings were shared and a HEA was reached.... and, even then, Titan had to do it his way.
A hero who I had to warm to and a heroine who I respected (but made one dumb-ass move) led to a very entertaining push/pull relationship that started off as just sex but ended up being a strong and loving partnership. There was sub plots of boardroom deals, backhanders and in your pocket bribes as well as the tense dynamics of characters from the previous book. The narration, as always, was great and added to the full enjoyment of this very entertaining listen.
Worth a credit? Meghan March is an auto-download Author and this book shows why.... because I can trust that she will deliver complex characters who I'll fall in love with, give me an exciting plot and pepper it with angst, drama and suspense. So YES creditworthy.
Eden is the illegitimate daughter of a Mob Boss, she's been living in a guilded cage always protected, watched and sheltered.. until she gets news tha..Show More »t'll uproot Eden and put her in the middle of New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Alone for the first time, Eden tries hard to fend for herself - but it isn't long before she's being rescued by a handsome, sexy, tattooed Alpha named Bishop. And this is the start of a beautiful well-paced relationship where time and time again Bishop will rescue the damsel he can't stop thinking about. Eden has secrets.. but it turns out she's not the only one.
I had this book on pre-order for quite a while because Meghan March never fails to blow me away with her very addictive plot lines where she creates such vivid descriptive scenes and fills them with warm friendly loveable characters. Her Heroes are possessive, hot, dirty talking Alphas - and Bishop also had a man bun too. Although it was instant attraction between Eden and Bishop their romance took time to build and develop.. and there were some sexy scenes between these two. Good secondary characters, dual POV and the awesome narration by Andi and Sebastian was everything I'd hoped for from two well loved narrators.
Worth a credit? Absolutely YES.. and I tried very hard to listen to this in one go but unfortunately life had a habit of interfering in my guilty pleasure.
