Swendson's novels always have strong heroines with a well-developed moral compass, and will always fight to do the right thing. And they will always whirl on their attacker/aggressor/person annoying them today. They also smile enigmatically. All. The. Time. I don't actually think this is a problem, more like the author's thumbprint in the text. I now look forward to how many time she will use them in a particular book.
