Never another book read by Traci Odom. Irish accent good, but it could not make up for poor reading skills. Speed was Ok, but Odom does not have the r..Show More »ange to be a good reader. Author had a good outline, but needed better editing. I would not buy another of this authors work unless listeners gave it an great must buy rating.
Ms. Ashley created a unique take on the paranormal genre. The "shifters" were created by faery. They freed themselves from the fae only to end up co..Show More »rralled into shabby towns and treated as second rate citizens by humans. I am enjoying this series even though it is not in my top 5.
Unfortunately, I think I would be enjoying it more if I was reading it. It's hard for me to say this, but the narration is truly awful. The reading is staccato. There is no rhythm. Sentences are stressed in the wrong place so that the listener has to stop and think about what the words mean instead of relying on the narrator to embue them with the correct feeling. She "loses" the "voices" so that the listener gets a bit of a shock thinking "...wait, wasn't the heroine talking? ...oh, she still is, only she sounds like the hero now..." All in all, its a difficult listen entirely due to the poor narration.
Man o Man this was so good. Ok.. So when I got Tiger's Magic... Book 5, Rowan had a woman, and I was so confused... I was like what? Ok... this is the..Show More » answer to that! This is like book 2.5, so this falls in between even Iona and the other shifter town in Austin. I loved how the books come out though... because we really don't know about Rowan's household until book 5... then this book, falls way way before that book, so you see Rowan's household before all of the events of book 5. You meet Olaf in book 5 but you get to know him in this book. Sooo cute. And Rowan... OMG! I never really pictured Rowan as a sexy man, until this book. He was always around with Liam and the other shifter, but now...I just want to squeeze and hug him and wrap him up in a big ol bear hug! This was awesome.
Great Credit/buy if you have any of the other shifter unbound books! U want this in your collection!
I usually love these types of paranormal/romance books and also anything JA writes is an automatic download for me. But I'm so sorry to say that ther..Show More »e was just something about this listen that missed it's mark with me.
I don't know whether there's just too many sub plots going on at the same time as the main romance - yes there's a thread running between most of the plots but it just seemed a bit disjointed and didn't flow quite right. It had some great characters in it and it was action packed however, it seemed such a fractured story that it failed to make me care enough about any of it. Yes, there was a sweet romance going on between the two main characters - a cop and a were-cat, but even their sex scenes seemed more 'motion' than 'emotion' and, as a result, it failed to grab me.
Worth a credit. Well, if you've been happy with this series then I guess it's a must but this particular listen sadly just didn't really do it for me. However, I will download the next one in the hope of a more focused storyline.
Ok.. we all know I love love love me some Shifters Unbound! This has to be one of the best paranormal romances out there... Right up there with the Ni..Show More »ghtwalker Series.
This is Spike's story... Remember Spike from book 1? He was Fergus' tracker, then after Liam killed Fergus, Liam took in Spike's family and made Spike his tracker. Spike pops up in all the books some way or another, but this was great to get a look into Spikes world.
I thought Spike would be the bad to the bone type of guy, but he was just so sweet in the things that he did for his grandmother and his little cub. I love the female character as well. The whole thing, I just loved the whole thing. This book falls after Eric and Ione's story, but takes place in the Austin Shifter town. I can't wait to listen to another .5 book in this shifter world. The next one will be about the wolf shifter who never gets the gyrl! Lol...
Narration was just amazing. Perfect!
This is a buy or credit. You won't be disappointed. If you don't have this series... then get it and enjoy!
Well, if you've listened to the rest of the series then you know what you're gonna get - were-shifter towns, their inhabitants, their problems and fit..Show More » bodied males (check out the cover girls - well if we have to dream let's dream big!!).
Right from Chapter 1 this draws you in as Eric (alpha were-snowleopard in his 'cat' form) stalks Iona (were-panther in her 'cat' form) through rugged terrain, finally catching and pouncing on her. She is an unclaimed and unmated female who's releasing some strong 'come and get me boys' pheromones and he's picked up her delicious scent and is only too happy to oblige..... but she is fighting her feline frenzy questioning who and what she is. There's a lot of sexual and physical attraction so Eric has to wait to claim her - but can he do it before other wereshifters pick up her enticing scent.
Interesting likeable characters along with some not so nice wolf shifters who become involved in a great storyline that has many subplots - namely; turf war, Alpha dominance, kidnapping (or should I say cubnapping), genetic engineering and, of course, the sexy, lustful romance between Eric and Iona.
Worth a credit? This was a very enjoyable and entertaining paranormal listen so that would make it a undeniable YES to the book and, if you haven't already listened to the others in the series (and you like the genre), then it's a YES x 4 to the whole series. So, do yourselves a favour and download them all - however, this could have been a stand-alone listen but hey life's short why deprive yourselves - download them all then give the tv remote to your husband, order in, get a babysitter (if needed), turn your phone off then my friends..... just sit back and ENJOY.
It's JA... you either like the Shifter's Unbound or you don't! I personally loved them... I love the whole dang series... You just can't go wrong with..Show More » anything JA writes...especially about her Shifter towns!
This is Cormack and Nell's story.. I like Cormack and Nell from previous books... so this is just a back-story on how those two got together...
Mannn I just couldn't wait till this came out. After Iona's story when she save Tiger is Shifters Unbound book 4... I knew Tiger's story would be awes..Show More »ome. Ashely has outdone her self with this one. They way Tiger thinks is simply amazing... I love how Ashely has Tiger thinking to himself one moment then talking out loud or to someone the next, to show how the detail process of how his mind works and thinks, just to show he is very different from the other shifters. I loved it. OMG! Then the TOUCH OF A MATE! This book actually makes the Mates valuable to the shifters in healing them...well for Tiger at least, because he is different. Then the end! OMG... how he is goning to be working for the military.. .YES!!! So awesome... This book was just awesome. A must if you have the other books... If you don't have the other books... get them so this one will make sense.
All of these books are well written & very entertaining. Sorry for the spoiler but book 1 & tigers story are the best & I am close to done with the s..Show More »eries. Ok honestly tigers book for me wast the best listened to it 3 times.
I am huge J. Ashley fan, so I usually enjoy anything from this author...but honestly these Shifter Unbound books are awesome! We r getting so close to..Show More » finding out the whole collar thing and how to get them off our smexy shifters! I simply love how J.A. weaves the two shiftertowns together, and now with Jace mating a shifter from Austin...well it one big o'l happy family.
This book goes deeper into the faire realm, more so than book 2 and Jace's book. The plot is getting deeper but so enjoyable!
Narration was awesome...
Well worth the credit or a sale...maybe not a buy...as it's over 10 bucks...
