The narrator reads the story with a sort of simple style as if one was reading from scripture. So it grates on some because it sounds as if she needs practice. Her voices of characters are good and if you listen, her style is perfect for the story. The story is a little Taming of the Shrew like but with the backdrop of faith. I enjoyed the story and the narration, skillfully done.
Another fabulous Sharon Shinn book, and the narrator really didn't bother me as much as with Book 1. Getting ready to start Book 3, so obviously I would still recommend these fabulous books!
This book started slow and almost disappointing, but it recovered itself towards the end, overall. I'll still listen to the next book as I am 3 books ..Show More »in now, but things feel a little far fetched and I'm hoping that she is able to carry through with the way the book ended.
The reader does a good job, but I do have to up the speed some because she is a bit slow, but that could also be the recording engineer's decision. Not much of a problem for this book because Audible does provide the ability to speed it up.
