OMG!!! This was a very painful book to listen to. The narration was awful. The way she portrayed Darrius made him seem like he was a little slow witte..Show More »d. I couldn't even get into the story for the bad narration. The only reason I started listening to this book is because it was the first in the series and I didn't want to miss any important info about the book I really wanted to listen to, King of The Vampires. Hopefully that narrator is better. It had some pretty good reviews so I'll give it a try. Perhaps reading this book would be better than listening to it.
This was my least favorite book of the whole series. I had a hard time getting through it. To much sex talk and not enough story. Thank goodness I w..Show More »as not reading it or else I would have put it down and never finished it.
A VERY ENJOYABLE FANTASY WORLD TO DWELL A WHILE IN
This is book 3 in GS's Atlantis series where, in the mythical realm beneath the sea, there are three Kingdoms..... Dragons, Vampires and Nymphs and it..Show More »'s where a whole host of other weird and wonderful creatures live. There are alliances, hatred, friendships, wars, portals and lovers but overseeing it all is the mighty vengeful Poseidon. They could each be stand alone listens.
The handsome Nymphs need sex all the time to keep their strength up but the Dragons have stolen their females so they are forced to steal some Human women and that's when the trouble starts for Valerian, King of the Nymphs when he locks eyes with his mate.... Shaye.
It's fun, fantastical and there's a lot of bantering, humor and angst between the H/H when Shaye doesn't want to instantly drop her panties and stay with the super sexy and gorgeous King so, for the first time, Valerian really has to work hard for it. There's also sub plots involving the Dragons, Vampires and Poseidon and a secondary romance. It's filled with great characters and GS's imagination at world-building is awesome and the Narrator did a good job coping with all the many different voices.
Worth a credit? This is a entertaining, light and enjoyable fantasy romance with a couple of sex scenes between two very likeable main characters. I've listened to the whole series now and have loved every one so, YES, a very creditworthy addition to the series.
way too sappy. the book is like a reality tv show. and to make it worse, she constantly says the same things over and over. i couldnt even get through..Show More » the first 6 chapters before i had to quit listening.
Let me start by saying I love Gena Showalter, and giving this 4 stars is so hard for me. I feel like I have just insulted a Goddess or slapped the Que..Show More »en. From what I can tell, this was read off of the original ebook that was released a while ago and I was expecting it to be the same as it was when published in the book Into The Dark. When I email Gena about this, she told me that there was a word limit to the ebook and that she had lengthened the stories in Into The Dark which had no word count. Author's have no say as to which version is released on audio, I believe that is the publisher's choice. This would have been a lot better if the longer version had been done on audio, but that is only my opinion. The story is still very good.
This story starts where Vampire's Bride, book 4 in the Atlantis series leaves off. This novella features Zane, a vampire warrior and his hope to be love, Nola, a Amazon soldier.
