Dick Hill has narrated several books from the various series and he gives a terrific performance here. If you like cliched covert/military action, well described international settings, and self-deprecating yet capable heroes who have their own wealth to rely on, then this latest series will not disappoint.

I found it absorbing and satisfying, except for some minor points. It's "algorithm," not "logarithm." There were some other bloopers but I didn't take notes. Castillo is tiresomely consumed by self-doubt. His difficulty with keeping his cell phone charged is a bit bizarre.

That said, the locales are exquisitely detailed and the bureaucratic procedure and politics are illuminating. This series of books is for readers who appreciate detail and in-depth portrayal of the missions.

This fourth book in the Presidential Agent series is another fantastic "read" from WEB Griffin. These are books that are definitely best read in the r..Show More »ight order (although not absolutely critical). Dick Hill does a great job of keeping himself "in character" with his voice variations. These are easy books to listen to, with very interesting, albeit not totally unpredictable plots for WEB. The genre of novels featuring independently wealthy public servants who use their independent wealth in the prosecution of their duty has become something of a hallmark for this writer, going all the way back to his brilliant Brotherhood of War series..but if you liked that, you will find equal listening pleasure in the Presidential Agent series. Not 100% believable but definitely 100% entertaining. These books make commuting a pleasure. I would give this book a solid 8 out of 10 and recommend it to my friends without hesitation.

This is by far the best of the Presidential Agent series. Since Griffin's writing style is to repeat the important events of this series over and over..Show More » again, new readers of the Presidential Agent series can skip earlier book of this series and start the adventures of Charlie Castillo with the Black Ops. The narrator is Dick Hill for the first 5 books who does a great job of bring the characters to life. The most recent book of this series is the Outlaws, which continues the story of Charlie Castillo and his new friends, two former Russian SVR spies. I recommend listening to that book after the Black Ops. The narrator of Outlaws is Jonathan Davis, who does a great job as well. Some reviewers have been critical of Jonathan Davis compared to Dick Hill, but I believe he does an equally great job with the characters as Dick Hill did in the earlier books of this series.
I don't know if it was the change in narrators or the addition of WEB IV as co-author, but there is big personality shift in the character of Ambassador Montvale the Director of National Intelligence, who is an arrogant *** in the Black Ops and a good guy in the Outlaws.
I have listened to all of the books in the Presidental Agent series several times and recommend the entire series as well as the Honor Bound series. Both of these series use Argentina as the site for much of the activities, since the author (WEB III) lives there for part of the year.

I have been waiting months for the next book in this series. As a rule I never get the abridged version because I want more story for my money, but t..Show More »his book would have been the perfect abridged version. The new aspects of the story would have fit nicely in a shorter format and the hours of inaccurate rehash could have been sent to the edit room recycle bin. I am not sure if Dick Hill read the story and refused to narrate it but I could not blame him. This one just did not do justice to the earlier books of the series.
