EXCELLENT, OUTSTANDING, EXCEPTIONAL AND EXTRAORDINARY!!!! Wow, this author really knows how to tell a Christian story, Worth the cost GREAT. However, ..Show More »you really need to read blessed trinity first. I hope Audible gets the last book in trilogy.
This was a good book and I like how characters from her other books just make enough of an appearance to let you know where they are at. You might wa..Show More »nt to listen to "Stongholds" and "If Memory Serves" first. I liked the narrator as well.
I really enjoyed the series. it really connects with just life in general and the fact that I can put my hands on my Bible and go to the scripture and..Show More » God releases a new revelation this is really awesome vanessa has done an awesome job keep up the good work.
"The Other Side Of Goodness" by Vanessa Davis Griggs never ceases to amaze me. Ms. Griggs' novel seem to really be right what you need to hear...about trust, love, divorce, politics, health issues....'bone marrow transplant,' breast cancer and above all the love of God. Definitely this was a Christian fiction that gets right to the heart. To see how Ms. Gabrielle has given her heart to the Lord was simply wonderful. Just seeing how she handles all that is going on around her was just beautiful in how this author has Gabrielle so well focused on doing the right thing.
The characters... from Gabrielle.. Zachary, Pastor Landris, Johnnie Mae Landris,Congressman Lawrence Simmons, Malachi, Paris, Imani, Dedra, William, Jessica to Jasmine and many others... made this novel such a wonderful read.
From the Author..."It’s been eight years since Gabrielle Mercedes gave up her baby for adoption. But when she learns the child desperately needs a bone marrow transplant, she doesn’t hesitate to contact the congressman. Like Lawrence, Gabrielle will fight for what she wants, even if it means the truth could ruin someone else’s life and career…." Now, I know that makes you want to pick up this wonderful read to see just what it is all about. You will not be disappointed!
"The Other Side of Goodness" was truly a enjoyable ride that you will not be able to put down until the end... definitely showing how God can take a sinner and put them on the other side of 'goodness.'
I recommend this book to all who would like to see how one can change and truly be of help to those in need.
I am a believer in "what goes around, comes around".... and what you plant today, you can expect to reap it's fruits tomorrow. I thought that I would..Show More »n't enjoy this novel because I don't like being preached to. But based on the customer reviews and needing something different, I took the plunge.
I enjoyed the storylines so much that I've downloaded the next book in the series because I want to know who is the father of Paris' baby, who is Miss Esther Crowe, and whether Tiffany will divorce her husband, Darius, the serial cheater. This novel is bible based so there are virtually no sex scenes which was a relief for me after listening to a couple of Zuri Day's novels which are chocked full and explicit!.
In this novel, the shenanigans of church folks are some of the same shenanigans that happens in many churches today... real life stuff. You have Paris, the spoiled-brat daughter of the local politician, husband Darius "Dare" the serial cheater, the ex-stripper, and Jasmine the little girl who is up for adoption. And then there is the private detective who is hired by the one person you would least expect (that is if you haven't been paying attention). Everybody knows everybody else's business and, of course, everybody knows what the bible says about gossiping but gossip is what they do best!
If you are looking for lots of action, steamy sex scenes or a good ole thriller, this is not the book for you. But if you want something a little slower paced but keeps your attention well enough, then you might enjoy this one. Narrator, Shari Peele is as good as it gets.
The ending to "The Other Side" series was pretty good. I enjoyed it. It has good a good number of suspenseful storylines/events that kept me plugged..Show More » in and listening.... This series is bible based and therefore prayer and faith in God's blessings were cleverly woven and positive outcomes were abound, somebody even came back from the dead! Well, not truly dead but was able to tell all the stories that you hear in the media when someone says they died and lived to talk about it (i.e.: seeing the light, seeing dead relatives, looking down on the scene while the doctors are trying to save their life, etc.). This may be TMI but I don't think that it will deflect from the enjoyment of the story because anyone can see the "return from the dead" coming anyway. Narrator did a great job with as many as 5 or 6 characters in conversation at one time.
