At the risk of inciting an audible riot, dare I say that Corrie James narration was reminiscent of, perhaps, one of the all time, best narrators, Davi..Show More »na Porter? So there! I said it! The audible sky did not fall! It's just my humble opinion, but I believe that James has the makings of a narrator similar to that of the great, Davina Porter. Davina Porter is one of my all time favorite narrators. Especially in the Outlander series! I'm sure I'm not alone, expressing how difficult the task of finding my next book was, once my amazing adventure with Gabaldon's Outlander series was over. So, you can imaging how thrilled I was once I started to listen to the Highlander's Reward. I sincerely hope that James is given the opportunity to develop her talent. Unless she has an alias, Corrie James is not listed as narrator on any other books on Audible. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment of Eliza Knight's Highlander series. Note to the powers that be..... Don't forget that there's something to be said about sticking with what works!
This is a nice continuation in the series. I liked book one but I though this was a little better. It had more adventure and suspense than book one...Show More » Aliah and Blaine had great chemistry and the story moved along at a good pace. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys light highlander romances. Also, the narrator is great. .
I don't like reviews that explain the whole plot of the story of a book. Why should I listen to it if I know the outcome? Makes no sense to me. ..Show More » With that being said, I enjoyed this third book in the series. The book centers around the love story of Myra and Daniel. It basically deals with the hardship struggles and trust issues between them. My only negative about this book is the ending seems a bit rushed. I got into the characters and wanted to know more in the end. But overall, I enjoyed it.
The fact that this book has a woman who is an actual warrior makes this Highland story quite unique. Many stories show women who are strong fighters ..Show More »but Julilanna was actually trained to be a warrior. When Ronan and Julianna are thrown together there is not only romantic chemistry but battle chemistry. Juliana is smart, strong, spirited, and courageous.....Ronan is powerful, brave, chivalrous, romantic, and delicious. Ronan was not intimidated by Julianna's warrior strength, he admired and respected her. The kind of man women dream of.
Although this story has actual historical characters it has many fictional characters which makes for a more interesting story. Overall, this is a fun romantic read especially when you need an escape from reality.
Also, Corrie James as narrator is always a pleasant listen.
This series never fails to deliver a wonderful love story along passion and adventure. The author makes each book interesting an entertaining. In th..Show More »is installment the main characters are Brandon and Mariana. Brandon is the usual strong, handsome, highland warrior but Mariana isn’t the typical virginal heroine. Mariana is French, beautiful, and skilled in the art of making love. Together their chemistry is smoking and their determination is admirable.
I think this whole series is great and if you enjoy Highland romances its definitely worth a credit.
This was book 6 of one of the best series I've read. I hope there is a book 7. It had action, suspense, excitement and romance. I couldn't put it down..Show More ». It tied in with the characters from the other books, and I loved them all. On top of all that the narrator did a great job, I especially like her voice for William Wallace.
In terms of chronological order, this story is the first. If you look on Amazon it is clearly described as a prequel although it is marked as #7 in t..Show More »he series, so I’m not sure why Audible hasn’t done the same. The story stands alone, so I think it would be fine to listen to it first or last. It was a cute, light story but average. I preferred some of the other stories in the series that had more going on in them.
