The Human Galactic Empire has begun its annexation of the Alliance, and they are using tactics for which the rest of the galaxy are unprepared. Unfortunately, the Free Fleet is caught in the middle of it all, and if they do not stop the empire now, there will be no stopping them later.

A time to recover. A chance to make a new ally. A brief respite to repair and rearm. An opportunity for a people to regain their honor. For every civilization there comes a moment when a stand must be made against tyranny. The time has come for the Alliance to draw a line in the sand.

The Aurora begins clearing a 20 light year sphere of safety around Earth, taking out Jung forces as they liberate the core systems. However, Captain Scott and the Alliance quickly discover that not every world wants to be liberated, and the Jung have a few surprises of their own.

The Confederated Systems Alliance has spread to dozens of systems, creating the first true interstellar alliance dedicated to bringing peace and prosperity to all inhabited worlds. Unfortunately, some see this new alliance as a threat to their own seats of power, and would do anything to stop it. After a well deserved rest, Captain Nathan Scott is once again called into action. This time, it is not the fate of the galaxy that is on his shoulders, but the life of one of his dearest friends. But not all is as it appears.

Captain Nathan Scott has less than a week to prepare before he must face the greatest Gunyoki pilot on all of Rakuen. Captain Scott has lost his entire family, save his sister, who needs better medical care than the Aurora can provide. Nathan, his friends, and the crew of the Seiiki must leave the Karuzari fleet to fend for themselves while they try to find a way to save Miri.
