But not quite what I was looking for, although I should've realized as much. The book is exactly what it's trying to be: romance and lust between two characters destined to be enemies in a slowly approaching doom setting, with a narrator fully into it. And if that's all you need, this book is probably for you!

Personally though, I felt there wasn't enough to the story. The worldbuilding left unanswered questions, which weren't necessarily important to the thin plot but confused me nonetheless. The characters' decisions and motives didn't always make much sense, or at least lacked in explanation. The narrator often got a bit too theatrical to my liking. But take this with a grain of salt if you will, as this review is coming from someone who enjoys her relationships much much more platonic.

This story was alright, not great, not terrible, but not something I would want to read again. The voice acting was pretty bad though, his droning voice and unenthusiastic exclamations made this a difficult read. Chugging along, A.

I enjoyed the listen, and realized this is a book that connects hundreds of worlds together and sets up larger stories. Though they're all set on their own theme, they all connect. Even if this story lacks in world building it is the stepping stone to much larger universe. I encourage you to read and fall into the rabbit hole that I have of these books. They are most interesting and keep me engaged throughout!

Well, this was surprisingly fun. A gay Beauty and the Beast retelling with a witch and a vampire? I'm in. There's nothing overly complicated about this. It's easily enjoyable and entertaining, and the smut is a fun time. I wasn't the biggest fan of some of the writing. The occasional word choices made me cringe just a bit, but overall, it's great, and I will keep reading Ben's work. I wish I had checked out his stuff sooner.
