Publisher's summary

It's their usual Thursday girls' night in, and best friends Skye, Elena, and London are enjoying hanging out at Skye's house in New Mexico, eating junk food, drinking wine, and playing with Skye's little children, Carter and Abigail.

Until the intruders arrive.

Hearing the horrific screams from Elena and Skye, London hides the children, tiptoes out to see what has happened . . . and disappears.

After Carter raises the alarm, Detective Alyssa Wyatt is called in to investigate a bloodbath that appears to have no motive, no evidence, and worse still—no sign of London.

As Alyssa and her team dig deeper, the truth is always out of their reach . . . but what is clear is that they need to find London, and fast. And as they uncover a link between the murders and a sinister local cult, can Alyssa find the young woman who has vanished without a trace—before London joins the list of victims?

Meet Detective Alyssa Wyatt. Mom, Wife . . . and a serial killer's worst nightmare.

An utterly addictive, dark and twisty detective novel with a twist that will leave you gasping. If you're a fan of Kendra Elliot, Lisa Regan, or Angela Marsons, you'll fall in love with Charly Cox's stunning detective series.

A little disappointed TBH :(

I loved the first three books in this series - so much so that I waited up until midnight on the release date of this 4th installment. But, to be honest, this book was a bit lackluster. The narrator is great, she does different voices for each character and her evil voice is chilling! But I just never really got into this book like I did the first three.

Maybe I hyped it up too much for myself so my expectations were higher than they should've been...IDK. All I know is, I found myself falling asleep every time I started this book. It took me three time longer than it usually does for me to finish.

I am still hopeful that we'll see another installment in this series though because I'm REALLY hoping this was just a fluke, or maybe it was just me this time.

I'd still recommend this book either way because if you're a loyal fan of the author and series then you gotta read the full set. Just know, this one, for me, lacks a lot of that super suspenseful part that his other books have.

More “coffee” instead of “Java” IYKYK , worth credit!

*just be warned there is human and animal torture / mutilation scenes that are gory and graphic but you can feel it coming and fast forward and skip*

This book is the best of the series for character development (of all the characters in the books to come before), plot twists, character banter, and it keeps its pace from start to finish. While it is wonderful addition to the series be warned that it is Very gory murder scenes, with mutilations and dark satanic rituals taking center stage as the killers method of murderous acts. Found myself making the sign of the cross as I listened in sheer disbelief of the fact Satan could be worshipped by cults that see him as their god. I learned that was the way for some and was able to praise Jesus a little louder and pray a little harder thanking Him for His light that drives out all satan’s darkness! Just be warned if any of the above is a trigger for you, I would skip.

Good Listen

This is my least favorite of the series so far, but it was still a good story. Some of the characters were a bit unbelievable, but decent overall.

I love the series

These books have grabbed and kept my attention from the get go. I love that things aren’t dragged out for 45 pages. The books start off and get straight to the point.

Good story

Another good story from Charly Cox. I want to point out two things; one from this book and the one prior. The devices that hold ammunition for semiautomatic pistols are called “magazines,” not clips. In book 3, a firearm was referred to as, “a .22 caliber Glock 19.” The Glock 19 is only produced in 9mm. Future printed editions might be corrected by using, “a .22 caliber Glock 44.” Please take no offense from these corrections.
