Publisher's summary

My name is Danica James. I'm a cop with the Arcane Division.

A new demon lord has crossed the Rift, and says his queen wants her statue back, the one I took from the previous demon lord. Then he proposes a trade. You can't trust demons. They lie, they cheat, they steal. They prey on humans. But unless I'm willing to walk away, it's the only game in town.

The exciting conclusion to The Rift Chronicles trilogy.

Contains mature themes.

A few to many enemies…

Overall the story was good. You definitely have to read all three installments in order. The two weaknesses were an over abundance of enemies and a weirdly under developed romance.
As far as the enemies go, it was almost as if there should have been more installments in the series to cover them all. The story lines are interesting, but the characters could have been flushed out more completely.
The romance was odd. It was as if someone said the main character had to have a love interest so they could market the book as paranormal romance. That whole aspect was an afterthought.
As light read with magical creatures that blow stuff up… it’s decent.

Really enjoyed

A good balance between excitement and adventure, but not overly stressful. Story line was well done, with enough detail to pull everything together. Ending was on a good note. Definitely would recommend.

An Addictive Series with Impressive World-building

The complex worlds built by BR Kingsolver are a joy to peruse. Kingsolver does not over-explain the world, allowlying the reader to become gradually accustomed to the society.
