Story
Tracie Peterson, from her own Montana home, paints an unforgettable portrait of the rich, rugged landscape of the 1860's West, populated by strong and spirited characters. When Dianne Chadwick urges her family to move west to her uncle's ranch in the Montana Territory, she has no idea that her new life in the rugged frontier - and even within her uncle's home - will not be the idyllic adventure she expects.

Enjoyed it
I enjoyed this story very much. I have been doing my genealogy over the last several years. And I discovered that my 10 times great grandfather is William Bradford. So, it was very exciting to hear him spoke of in this book. It actually has been very exciting to Read other books and stories in which he is in.

Great narrator, so-so story
The historical aspect of this book is very interesting, but it feels like every other paragraph is filled with scripture or prayer.

Too much romance, not enough historical details
Not for me. I’m not a fan of romance novels, but if it’s your genre, this may be for you. I liked the narration

Bring on the Mayflower!!!
This is a good book for late night listening because it gets my attention and keeps it! I have tried to limit myself to only a few chapters at a time....I failed miserably...I was enjoying it too much to close it down. I don't sleep well at night so this was perfect for me. The house is quiet and my body is ready for rest but my mind will not shut off.. It is at times such as these that I reach for a good book. I have had several eye surgeries, thus, how wonderful it was to pick up "my book" and relax! The Mayflower Bride keeps me wanting more. I'm ready for the next book in the series.

If You Like Historical Sagas
This is excellent if you like Historical Sagas. There are too many characters in the beginning but if you hang in, it becomes very interesting.
As a romance, the conflict between Mary Elizabeth and William does not exist. The tension comes about in the last 45 minutes of the book. The spiritual conflict is weak. But the author does show the love of God for all, the impotence of remaining non-judgmental, and forgiveness. The historical content took over the first part of the book.
Sarah Zimmerman as narrator didn’t help the pacing because her tone stays the same all the way through.

Absolutely phenomenal!
This is an absolutely phenomenal book! I love that the author obviously did her homework and read the diaries of William Bradford.
Although I knew most of what happened to the colonists, it was so much more heartbreaking and yet so very rewarding to read about their struggles and victories in a novel.
Truly, other than the Bible, this is the best book I've read in a long time. I'm very much looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series!
