Junior year has come for the remaining students of Melbrook Hall, and it promises to be the most difficult one yet. With one of their own gone and another under serious investigation, none of the former Powereds know how many days remain for them in the Hero Certification Program. The time they do have will be filled with more trials and classes, honing their skills as they work toward the increasingly difficult goal of becoming Heroes.

Ample new challenges await them, and not all of them can be met within the safety of Lander's campus. Fallout from last year's final exam has stirred the interest of many parties, not all of them friendly.

I fell into the series accidentally with Corpies. I love the unique and ever evolving story and admit that I put the release dates in my calendar as PreOrders are still unavailable.
This story is not just a fantastic progression in the story arch but also you can really see how Drew Hayes has evolved as a writer. Any complaints I previously had like the over usage of "he said" and "she replied" making large group conversation tedious is gone. It's almost like Drew asked what the nit picky complaints were that I had and used them to improve. 40 plus hours is a long listen and generally full of 25 hours of repetition. For this 3rd book in the Super Powereds series, each word is necessary. For those that love a detailed fight scene and for those that love young romance or cloak and dagger, this book has something for everyone. The best thus far.
I don't like to put spoilers in my reviews but considering the time investment I will had only a few so of you don't like Spoilers, stop reading now:

For the love of God, finally Vince recognizes Camille and in case you were worried, Nick is back baby.

Can't wait to start year four. Of course now I have to pick up Corpies, and I'm waiting for the sequel to Forging Hephaestus. Think of the series as Harry Potter goes to college with super heroes.

it.....it was just amazing. Flat out literally ecstasy. I don't believe I have ever enjoyed a series as well as this and this third book is in my top 10. Magnificent!

I love Drew Hayes in general, but this series is getting better with each book. He's got a real knack for blending character development with action, witty dialogue, and a bit of intrigue. I genuinely can't wait for Year 4 to come out.

The only failing here is the narrator, and it's really not his fault. He's great, and does a good job switching between male & female voices, and doing multiple characters, but it seems like there are too many characters here for him to keep up with. Two or three of the male characters sound identical, for instance, and that can be confusing in an audiobook. Again, he's a talented narrator, but there are limits to what one man can do to voice more than a dozen active characters.

Not exactly the way I expected this to go after the way the previous book left off, but still a great story. sorry have to cut this review short, will try an update when I have more time.
After listening to this and the rest of the books set in this world, a couple of times, I am now even more impatient for the next installment, be it year 4 or another spinoff like corpies. admittedly when I first came across this series I figured it would be another attempt at taking superheroes out of their comic books, but I can admit when I was wrong and I am now totally hooked on this material.

This is one the best series i have ever listened. I managed to finished in 3 days. Pretty awesome character development and mystery. I cannot wait to see what next year bring.

Enjoyed the story. The narrator nailed all the various character voices. I imagine it would be difficult to create so many distinct voices. Drew Hayes, you are going to have to keep the storyline going with our heroes going to grad school. Maybe?

It took about a month, but I just listened through all 3 available "Super Powereds" books. Excellent series, excellent performer.

Book 3 hasn't disappointed at all. The characters are well fleshed out and believable. A very good series that I am really enjoying. Narration is spot on and I'm now looking into other books narrated by Kyle McCarley
