Audie Award Nominee, Best Teens Category, 2013

Not so very long ago, Eragon - Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider - was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.

Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chances.

The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaësia? And if so, at what cost?

This is the much-anticipated, astonishing conclusion to the worldwide bestselling Inheritance cycle.

But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. Nice ending but Christopher still is learning. He is a great young writer and I hope to see many more novels and especially series from him. He may even consider a future version of this series but I wont hold my breath. I enjoyed the books but the movie sucked and ruined the story.
Great ideas and good follow through but I dot see a huge future. I see a one series wonder.

Great $th book to end the TRILOGY

The Eragon series was by no means a great work of literature, but it was certainly a good story that I enjoyed from beginning to finish. This book did not have the same narrative drive that I felt from Eragon or Eldest but it did a fantastic job of concluding the series.

After scrolling through the reviews left already I was surprised at the number of negative reactions to the conclusion. What were people expecting? Did they think that Paolini would describe every single mystery in the world? No, I thought Paolini did a great job tying up ends. If he had done anymore he would have had to write a whole new book, maybe a whole new series. The last 4 or 5 hours of the audiobook were devoted to resolving stories.

I think that the story ended nicely, and while Eragon's story is the epitome of the hero archetype, Paolini managed to tell this final chapter without using many obvious narrative cliches that people seem to have been expecting.

It was fun to listen to, and I will revisit it in the future.

A decent finish, I am pleased

Was a great story, but seemed kind of lost every once in a while. Poor Eragon.

What did you love best about Inheritance?

It was good, followed the characters correctly, and the ending was as expected.(Which is a good thing in this case)

What other book might you compare Inheritance to and why?

Dune meets Tolkein

Have you listened to any of Gerard Doyle’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was a little perturbed at the ending. It did not give some answers that would be required if this is the last book of Algaesia.

Any additional comments?

Worth a read, you will have to trudge through some boring parts and do not get your heart set on having all questions answered and a clear future for all main characters.

OK ending

over all this hole series is so emotionally filled. I truly wish there was more just to see how the relationships between people play out or continue. I am in love with this series and I am sad to see it end

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book (and the three previous volumes). It was well written and kept my interest throughout. I would definitely recommend it! Doyle is an amazingly talented narrator. I was sad when it came to an end.

Wonderful!
